We can definitely hope.  The issues addressed in this issue are something to build on for the second half of the series.

Just picked up this issue. A big step up in story. Art is a million times better. It really steps up the pacing and feel for the issue. Although if I can give it one criticism, it's that this recent plot twist is highly reminiscent of Cable's Messiah story arc with a dash of Civil War. As many have mentioned, we all know where this is going.

I dunno, I just think it's really cool to see the "villains" flip it around and do great things for the world.  But like I said, sh!t's going down at some point.  I'm very interested to see what happens now.  :)  And I REALLY couldn't see all this coming during that supremely lame first act.  Yeesh.
 
While the changes likely won't last, I think a cool side effect on what the Phoenix Five have done would be for mankind to view mutans in a much better light.  Mutants gave the world peace and that's not something people are likely to forget.  They should have a better opinion of the X-Men while the Avengers will be looked down upon even further for taking paradise away from them.   I really hope they are going in that direction.
 
Guess they are hading right into Marvel Now!  Just got to see how they get there......
