Welcome to the Random Thoughts thread. Here's where you can talk nonsense and go as off-topic as you like, because there is no topic. After 7 pages, the thread gets deleted save the last 4 or 5 posts.
Enjoy!

I'm sure Apple's life of privilege and want for nothing will console her for her unfortunate name. Celebrities have certainly done worse with naming their children: Nick Cage named his kid Kal-El. Jason Lee named his kid Pilot Inspektor. Courtney Cox's daughter is named Coco Cox, which sounds like a black transgirl's porn sobriquet or something. 'Apple' seems normal in comparison. Not that I think the name Apple is anything other than indefensibly stupid.

As a X-nerd I think Will Farrel going with Magnus is AWESOME. Just sounds like the most bad-ass Jewish kid in history.
Erykah Badu has them beat with a son named Se7en or something like that.

The worst I think I've ever heard of is Brad Paisley. I heard his named his son Huckleberry. That poor child will forever be Huckleberry Paisley. I think that should be considered a form of child abuse.

If I ever raise a son his name will be Meat. He'll eat out of a dog bowl and will be really good at punching.

I thought maybe someone had been naughty again. I'm glad we weren't being punished :).
My favourite dumb-ass customer comment of the night from last night comes after I told a woman that the cocktails were on a 2 for 1 offer.
"Does that include wine?"
Sometimes my faith in the human race reaches negative quantities.

In her defense, it really SHOULD include wine.

My internet no longer displas GIFs properly. Apparently it's because everything upgraded to IE10, which I can't do because I have Windows Vista (without paying $115 for Windows 8).

What about champagne cocktails? That's a sparkling French wine.
Why are you using IE? I think Chrome is a much better browser.

We don't do champagne cocktails. The majority of ours are gimmicky things that include having astro-belts and jelly sweets and sherbet and the like. We're meant to be marketed as a "student and like-minded people" venue, although I do laugh inwardly when some massive death-metal fan clad entirely in DARKNESS orders a Hubba-Bubba Blitz cocktail, which comes served in a teapot.

I didn't know there was a death metal drink of choice. That's probably a diagram somewhere -- cocktails by musical genre. If there's not, somebody do one.

It's really quite funny. Most of the girls who come to our rock night tend to order things like Long Island Iced Tea, whereas the guys order the really girly fancy ones. It amuses me somewhat.

Are Daft Punk very big in the States? What do y'all think of their new song? I tend to think that it's a pretty bad Daft Punk song, but it's still okay, it's just pretty poor for them. It sounds more like a Neptunes song, and I don't care for them all that much.

I can see that, definitely a fair description. I'm a Neptunes fan so I dig it..

Great. Now I want a Hubba-Bubba Blitz served in a teapot. Das, why don't you have an international instantaneous delivery system for times like this?

As a metal fan, I'm partial to shots of Jack. If it's too hot out for neat whiskey (can't stand it on the rocks), I go gin & tonic, heavy on the lime. If for whatever reason I ABSOLUTELY need something sugar-infused and ridiculous, it's getting made in my own kitchen. What in God's name is a Hubba-Bubba Blitz? Is it bubble gum flavored?
Been developing a taste for sake. So far I've had no hangover effects from it whatsoever. I just wish the quality-to-cost ratio was more forgiving; I can snag a 1.5 L of decent red wine like a Woodbridge cab for around $10 here. A decent 750 mL of sake runs about $20.

I wouldn't mind Fruity Drink Night as I am not a big drinker and I like my alcohol to taste good.

Alex I do everything like a hawk.
This isn't DC Comics -- Marvel continuity doesn't die out if you don't water it often enough.
The whole Batman idea is a very childish response to childhood trauma.

It's kind of bubble gum flavoured... It's banana liqueur, vodka, midori and blue curaƧao with orange juice. It's very sweet. If I could tolerate bourbon, my choice would probably be the Apple Jack, which is JD, Amaretto, cherry brandy and apple juice. Bub, judging by what you've said, I think you'd probably avoid the entirety of our menu, unless you like liquorice, in which case the Black Jack (JD, Black Sambuca and coke) might be more your thing...

I don't drink...I feel totally out of this discussion.
Let's talk about kool-aid? Or how about juice?

Back when I thought I was a guy, Jack was my bastion of masculinity. Guys at beer pong dorm room parties would talk smack to me because my stomach couldn't handle garbage like Keystone Light or Beer 30, so I brought my handle of Jack (Or Wild Turkey 101) with me to swig out of and it intimidated the hell out of everyone. My record for shots is 8 in 40 minutes, 9 in 50. I tried going 9 in 45 minutes but my stomach wouldn't let me. That record was set with Wild Turkey 101. I've never thrown up or passed out from booze. I really have nothing to prove anymore, but I do love whiskey.
When people post links to sites or vids, I almost never watch/view them because I'm a jerk like that. I'm assuming the Chapelle vid is about the purple stuff. For him to walk away from his sketch comedy show over ethics is respectable. I always thought his comedic skills lent themselves more to sketch comedy than to stand up. His set up and transition as a stand up comedian are pretty weak. Sketch allows him to explore oddball concepts without the preamble.
It goes without saying that I am drunk off my ass.
