Havok saw his on again off again girlfriend running down the hallway, tears streaming her face. “Lorna, what is it, what’s wrong?” Sobbing and gasping for air, Polaris tried to answer. “It’s happening again. I keep seeing the ghost, she’s there and then she’s gone; I don’t know what to do.” Alex held Lorna close to him, trying his best to reassure her. Northstar witnessed the couples embrace. He envied Polaris, despite her distraught emotional state. Before he could be caught spying, Northstar sped off to find his fellow X-Men. He found a small group in the TV room. Psylocke was discussing the strange events she has witnessed recently. “I swear, sometimes when I walk into rooms, it looks exactly like the mansion was back when I joined. But when I leave and try to show someone else, it changes back to the present version.” Shadowcat nodded her head, obviously believing Psylockes claims. “Every now I and then I see an image of Emma Frost wondering the halls, as if she was looking for someone. I even followed her through a wall once before she simply vanished. The massive Juggernaut was leaning against the wall. His metal helmet was off and his thick, meaty fingers were rubbing his eyes. “Cain are you OK?” “Yeah Johnny, my eyes are just bothering me.” “Well we must be in bigger trouble then I thought if the mighty Juggernaut is suffering along with all of us lesser beings.” Northstar thought a joke would lighten the mood, he quickly found out he was wrong. “Don’t insult me Northstar. I’m doing my best here.” Grabbing his helmet, the Juggernaut stormed off. “What was that about?” Northstar asked aloud. Iceman chimed in with his observations. “It’s not Marko’s fault really. He’s used to be the strong guy, and now he has all these muscle bound Avengers running around, making him look puny.
Rogue found herself being ostracized by the other prisoners. She felt as though they all blamed her for them being there. She wasn’t sure why, however she really didn’t want to think about, in case it truly is her fault.
Jean Grey decided to separate herself from the other prisoners. She had an idea to free everyone, but knew that it could be dangerous to bystanders. In the lowest level of the mansion, she sat alone. Tapping into her innermost abilities she reached out to break through the barrier that was trapping them all inside. Objects swirled around her and reality itself seemed to quake. Then in an instant, she broke through the barrier and saw the other side. Opening her eyes, she realized exactly where she was. She wanted to rush and tell the others, but found she was too weak to move. Unfortunately, that was when the mysterious killer chose to strike. Jean found herself unable to breath; something was wrapped around her neck. As she felt the life force drained from her body, she hoped that Emma would be able to set things right.

"May the Goddess watch her travels." Jean was amongst the dead once more. Shadowcat felt uneasy as she fed Storm the information she had gathered. "This is to much of a coincidence. Each victim has died from loss of oxygen. Somebody feels suffocated. Like they're trapped or something." Storm couldn't help but create a small breeze to pass by the two. It helped with her claustiphobia to feel the wind russle her hair. "Of course all the villians feel enclosed in this building but if I remember correctly Iceman stated that Cecilia did not want anything to do with the X-Men." "Maybe we can talk to her. All this death is making her jittery. It's almost like its too much for her."
Storm eyed the doctror as she kept scratching her neck. Something was off for the mutant physician, and maybe it was her responsibility to speak with Cecilia. "Cecilia, is something wrong. I've noticed that you've been tense recently. Is there anyyway I can help?"

Sabertooth rolled his eyes at the histrionics of Polaris. There weren't many people here who could pull off the murder of Jean Grey, but Lorna was certainly a good candidate. He turned away from the scene that he was certain was nothing but a display of crocodile tears, an attempt to shift blame away from her and onto someone else, and began to speak to Mystique.
"Say, Raven... in all the time we were forced to work with X-Factor, did ya ever think you'd see the big green meanie break down like that? I'm no fancy shrink or mind-reader, but I know predators when I see them, and right now Lorna's just reeling in more prey..."

Z'Cann, came around the corner and nearly ran right into Northstar. The arrogant man pushed right passed her, snidely stating, "Stay out of my way alien."
Deciding given the circumstances she could bend Xavier's rules and probes deep into people's mind's to discover the killer, the young Skrull took a look inside Northstar's mind. At first, she found the same survface thoughts she had been reading from everyone else, anxiety and confusion, but when she tried to probe deeper she found something blocking her. Pulling out of the Canadian's mind she reached out until she found the next nearest person, Spider Man, who was playfully making jokes withthe Hulk (which were going over his head). Once more she had the same problem. Something, or someone, wasn't allowing her to read people's minds.

If Thor and Loki agreed on anything, it was probably that the killer was a bad guy, like Sabretooth and Mystique.

Northstar had sensed the young skrull rooting around in his mind. Having learnt to develop small psychic blocks in his mind, he was able to prevent certain parts of his mind being uncovered by all but the most skilled telepath. In them he only kept personal memories, and trauma from his past, not the dark secrets that the skrull, Z'Cann had wished to find.
Mr Sinister was stunned by the death of Jean Grey. The Emma Frost development had worried him, as she did not contain the potential that Jean Grey did. The potential for the Summers/Grey bloodline was immense, and he was dissapointed that his plans had been crushed, albeit temporarily. He was sure that Jean would be back.
In the meantime, he had other candidates, Lorna Dane being one of the foremost...

Cecilia took a closer look at Jean's body, especially the even circular mark around her neck. It seemed that the redhead had been choked to death with some piece of fabric or jewelry. Other than that, the killer had once again left no evidence. She wondered who of those present would mean the kind X-woman harm.... and who would be capable to hide their malicious intentions from all present. " It's certainly not Iceman or Polaris, as both are clearly shaken by the death of their close friend", she thought.
Thinking the two X-Men to be innocent, Cecilia decided to approach them and ask them for their opinion of all this, when she suddenly noticed Gateway sitting close by. Once he was sure to have caught Cecilia's attention, the aborigine lifted a finger in front of his mouth, motioning her to remain silent. Cecilia was confused - was the enignatic man trying to warn her?

Spiral twirled her six swords around nonchalantly, much to the irritation of the Starchylde, Rachel Summers. Seeing that the daughter of the deceased was becoming more disturbed at Spiral's lack of fear considering the circumstances, Spiral merely gave the woman an eerie grin. The energy at the Mansion danced differently than what was the norm on Earth-616. Having danced in the souls of many, Spiral knew that this was no ordinary setting. She delighted in having this knowledge while the so-called heroes wasted time trying to escape. There was no escape. Though some, like her former comrade Mystique, had a tendency to try to run away any form of servitude.
Betsy and Jean hadn't always been the best of friends, but with time, they had formed a sense of camaraderie based on mutual respect. She was genuinely saddened to see her untimely demise. Though she found the behavior of Storm, siding with former villains like Juggernaut, somewhat surprising...

Off all the people to be killed within the group, Jean seemed like too obvious of a choice. The Phoenix and rebirth and all that. Cain actually watched the body for a moment expecting fire and brimstone and some unearthly voice or something with her rising once again. When it didn't come he actually felt disappointed. Mystique was still high on his list, as her actions as of late towards the team were highly suspicious. That and the woman turned sides quicker than one could keep track of where she stood.
Alison stood over by the wall and shook her head. "What a shame, they took out Jean when they could have gone for someone like Lorna." There was just something about the green haired woman Alison didn't like. Probably didn't help that the green haired wench held the heart of Alex Summers. Being on the arm of a Summers would be nice. Maybe Scott was ready to trade up.

Havok could see Dazzler wasn't going to be much help with talking to Lorna for him. Plus now he saw she was hanging around Iceman. He wondered if maybe he should just be direct with her. But she had previously seemed like she needed space. Things could get very complicated with her. He decided to continue to seek someone else out to make sure she was ok. Although she was grieving, he decided to ask Rachel next. Perhaps the two could help each other come to terms with their feelings about their recent traumatic experiences. Meanwhile, he still eyed the alien among them...
Polaris now saw Alex talking to Rachel Summers instead of her. Probably because she always wore that tiny mini-skirt. Who did she think she was fooling by using that as a supposedly practical outfit? Well two could play at that game. She wouldn't just flirt with Bobby, but find someone else too. She looked around at the guys...Spider-Man is a big-time hero! But then again his endless sarcastic quips would drive her insane. Longshot would have to do for now. She quickly ran over and grabbed his arm. "I'm going to stick with you and hope I get lucky," she said with a wink.

"Another one bites the dust. First Ms. Marvel, then Destiny, now Jean Grey!"
Longshot threw his hands in the air out of frustration. She-Hulk nodded her head in agreement before stepping into the center of the group.
"If only she would have listened to my advice. The killings so far have been Rogue-centric. If I were one of the X-Men, I'd be involved in some mad teamwork right now. Marvel Girl! Cecilia Reyes! Polaris! Shadowcat! The four of you have defensive powers. Unless you're a fan of mutant extinction, I'd look out for your own people and worry less about the Avengers. We're Earth's mightiest heroes!"
The Mojoworld native laughed at She-Hulk's comment before firing back with his own.
"Ha! I don't need the X-Ladies to help me babe, I've got Lady Luck on my side! Besides, we can't count out the dead redhead as the killer. Like a bad case of herpes, she always comes back!"
The room then got quiet as Longshot was the target of many a dirty look.

Rest in peace Mom, I'll see you in the White Hot room"
Rachel knew that she would see Jean again, and she knew that Jean dying had a purpose... she now had a good idea of who the killer was. Lorna had always wanted to be the leading Summers wife, and she was sure that Lorna would make sure that jean was out of the way so that her and Alex could be the leading X-Couple.

Rogue was trying to figure out what was going on. Not only was the mansion inescapable, but everyone was started to see things; impossible things. Everyone had their own theory on what was the cause. While eyeing Z’Cann, Havok said they were part of some alien invasion/experiment. Longshot announced they were probably all on one of Mojo’s twisted reality shows. “He is responsible for a whole series of Betrayal Games,” he added. Thor bellowed in his mighty voice, “This mansion is unnatural. It reeks of the foul odor of ancient, dark magic.” Cecilia Reyes scoffed at the Norse God. “Well I don’t believe in magic Fabio. This is more likely some kind of illusion, or maybe holograms”. Shadowcat put her head into her hands. “Great, we’re in Murderworld again”. The Hulk stepped up to Rogue, towering over the southern girl. “What if this is all happening in someone’s mind? Someone that could absorb our very souls into herself and then put us all at risk inside her fractured psyche.” Rogue turned from the cruel stare of the behemoth and found Storm standing behind us.”Let's all be thankful we are not in your fragile mind Dr. Banner. Otherwise we would have all been trampled by a herd of different colored Hulks all trying to kill each other.”
Rachael Summers joined the others after taking some time to morn her mother in private. Iceman put a hand on her shoulder. “I promise, we will find whoever did this to Jean.” Juggernaut let out a little audible laugh. How can you promise that Havok? We aren’t any closer to figuring out who the killer is then when we started.” Bobby Drake looked confused and insulted. “I’m Iceman Marko, not Havok.” “Well the way that Polaris bounces between you two, how am I suppose to keep you guys straight. Speaking of, where is Dane? Running away from ghost again?” Iceman was worried about Polaris. Not only did he not know where he stood with her romantically, but he was also concerned about her mental health. He wandered the mansion searching for her. She was in severe danger all alone. Especially with Sinister still on the loose. He had used her before and would surely take advantage of her again. The only one Iceman found though was Northstar. Just as Iceman was concerned for Polaris, Northstar was concerned for Iceman. Despite Jean Paul’s urging, Bobby did not want to stay and talk. Northstar doesn’t know why he did it. Maybe it was the stress of the situation. Northstar grabbed Iceman and pulled his face to his. Instead of resisting, Bobby Drake kissed him back. Jean Paul felt happier than he had in a long time. Without warning, Northstar felt a change in Iceman. Jean Paul opened his eyes and looked at his long time crush. His face was lifeless. Looking down, he saw blood, everywhere. Blood covered the front of Iceman’s uniform. Blood covered Northstar’s hands. In his right hand was also a bloody dagger. Jean Paul yelled out for help. The others rushed in and found him literally red handed. Spiderman shot webbing to ensnare the Canadian mutant as She-Hulk rushed in to grab him. Everyone shouted questions, asking why he did it. In the confusion She-Hulk pulled out a gun and placed it to the back of Northstar’s head. “This is for Irene you bastard”. “I can’t let you do that Jenn,” Rogue shouted as she grabbed the green woman’s’ arm with her bare hand. Rogue expected the usual absorption of power and memories. However this time, the effects were drastically different. Almost instantly, the form of She-Hulk faded away into the likeness of Mystique. Then it was as if Raven Darkholme evaporated into Rogue. Rogue didn’t know what it meant; her powers never did that before. However she found herself shape shifting into different people in her life. The Thing’s loud voice boomed over all the confusion. “QUIET!!!! We gotta figer out what happened here. So far we know that Rogue used her bad touch and basically sucked up her mom. And we know that Northstar stabbed his lover to death with a dagger.” Northstar had enough accusations. “First of all, he wasn’t my lover; second of all I didn’t kill him.” Just then the webbing holding Northstar turned into ice and shattered. Everyone looked shocked, including Northstar. He didn’t know how he did it, but he knew he was the cause. Meanwhile Z’Cann was examining the knife that Northstar had dropped, careful not to touch it. “Where did you get this knife speedster?” Northstar had no idea. However Dazzler quickly pushed her way to the front of the crowd. “That knife belongs to Spiral. Believe me, I know it intimately,” she said while rubbing her forehead and pushing back a painful memory. Storm pulled the Thunder God Thor aside to speak. “We have to take control of this situation. We have to find Spiral; she is out hiding with Sinister and Sabertooth. Also we have to watch Northstar, but I think it is still too early to simply condemn him as a murderer. Hopefully we can wrap this up before it gets any worse.” Just then, a violent earthquake shook the house. “My lady, I believe it is too late for that.”

Spider-Man and Thing were talking out the matter at hand, but they couldn't get a handle on what was going on. They at least knew for sure that they weren't getting anywhere near Rogue. Not that they had tried to before, but... you know, especially now.
Meanwhile, Gateway sat away from the others, meditating as usual. No one here outside of the X-Men even knew who he was, but should he be watched? He, as with Spiral, was a teleporter, but whereas Spiral tended to teleport synchronous to the passage of time in the 616 dimension, Gateway could open portals across both time and space. He might have been able to do more, no one had fully cataloged his powers. But if Gateway could open portals in time, see anything that was going on within the mansion even without having to actually teleport there... perhaps he, more than anybody else, knew everything that was going on within these walls.
If only he'd speak.

Longshot stood as far away from his former friend Rogue, preferring the company of non-X-Men, Spider-Man and The Thing. She-Hulk walked up behind the debating men and offered her usual frisky green opinions.
"More dead mutants. Do I have to say I told you so?"
Thing raised his rocky eyebrow and retorted, "Sounds more like you're braggin about a perfect score than a sad statistic on hero extermination, Shulkie."
"I don't feel the need to explain my disposition. If you ask me, it takes a mutant to want to kill a mutant. Nobody else would want to be painted as such a bigot! If I were you Longshot, I'd stay as far away from that 2nd rate green haired wannabe Polaris! Plus, I heard Mr. Sinister going on earlier about splicing Magneto's DNA with the Summers clan. Considering Havok is among us, I'd beware his beautiful blonde mug, as well as his girlfriend!"

"This is so lame," sighed Victor. Here he was, probably a figment of Rogue's imagination, and of ALL the people here, Sinister seemed to be getting the most play. All he'd had to do was mention how his hobbies include playing with genetics, and Spiral started wringing all six of her hands and making eyes at the pale-skinned, pointy-toothed freak.
Truth be told, Victor had tired of their company a while back, and was now wandering around the mansion, just hoping for something exciting to happen to him. He came across Northstar, who looked fairly distraught. Jean-Paul explained what had happened to Iceman as Sabertooth feigned interest and tried not to yawn.
"Gee, so someone made something metal fly into your hand while also cutting Frosty's throat?" he said, certain that he was going to end up with detached retinas at the rate at which he was rolling his eyes today. Well, unless he really was a figment of Rogue's overactive imagination. "I wonder which resident green-haired, magnetically powered, mentally unstable mutant could have done that..."
(Vote for Polaris)

Cecilia was used to seeing dead bodies. She remained calm, even though the latest victim was Iceman, whom she had known a bit better than the rest of the crowd. This time a weapon had been used to perform the murder - a weapon made of metal.
And - from the looks of it - the motive could be jealousy. A lover's quarrel. Possibly the killer was someone who had been attracted to Iceman, yet felt repelled when he kissed Northstar. In a burst of jealousy, she might have lashed out, killed the object of her desire and framed the man who had taken him away from her at the same time. Cecilia was sure that Lorna Dana, aka Polaris, was the killer. The only other person capable of flying and killing without touching would be Rachel Summers, but she didn't seem to have a motive.
Gateway sighed and closed his eyes.

"If Northstar is indeed telling the truth then it suggests someone manipulated his memories," Z'Cann tried to theorise with the Hulk.
"Look lady, just cuz I'm green doesn't mean we're gonna start a club," and the jade giant lumbered off down the hall, taking a swipe at Spider Man as he passed him.
The young Skrull sat down on the polished oak floor and put her face in her hands, she was at her wits end. As the alien with the power to reach into people's heads, she was doubly unpopular in the mansion. Meanwhile, Rachel Grey who could have easily killed everyone so far using her telikinesis, and messed with Northstar's mind, was getting all the comfort.

"Can I get you anything Alison. Water or something." Cain hovered over the pop star, as she sat to the side watching the goings on of the newest murders. "I could probably find something like that around here. Keep the mind off the bad things."
"Cain thanks but I don't need a nursemaid." Waving the man off, Alison wandered over towards the others. Standing beside Lorna she tilted her head somewhat. "Shame about your boyfriend. He was one of the good one's. Havok seems to still be available. I'm sure he can fill the void."
Cain frowned at all that was happening. Another two were dead now. Alison was ignoring him and treating him like a nusence. He just wanted her to notice him was all. Oh well, there were other things to worry about at the moment. Storm had been quiet since he had seen her last. Perhaps he'd seek her out. Either her or maybe She-Hulk. They had that fling after all.

Pretty much the only guy left to flirt with was Thor, and he was a little too scary to approach. She wasn't even sure how to go about picking up a Norse god.
