Allison sat in the corner, knees pulled up towards her chest as she rocked back and forth. Her hearing was gone. It was a new sensation and she didn't like it one bit. She needed comfort. There were very few left that could provide that sort of thing. Sabretooth was a no go. All that blood. Thing was too rocky. Spider-Man had that creepy mask on. Juggernaut was just not her type. Psylocke would have been a choice if Alison was interested in womanly comfort she supposed. Then she got an idea. Perking up she moved over and draped herself on Thor for comfort. Blond. Handsome and a God of Thunder. Perfect choice.
"Hi handsome." She wasn't expecting an answer mostly cause she wouldn't be able to hear it anyways.

Betsy was uneasy being back in her original body. The experience was like waking up and discovering that the past few years had all been a long, convoluted dream. Psylocke found the silent gaze of the Aborigine teleporter known as Gateway unsettling. She had had enough of his aura of mystery. Forging her mental katana and holding it to the shaman's throat, she declared, "You know something, don't you?! You play with our lives, manipulating us, after all the X-Men have done for you! Reveal what you know!"

Gateway showed no sign of even noticing Betsy or her hollow threat. As the killer, she wouldn't attack him all in the open, but quitely and secretly when nobody else was watching. Yet, her actions only confirmed his suspicion all along, as the Psylocke he recalled from the X-Men's stay in the Australian outback was certainly NOT CAPABLE of creating a mental katana.

As Z'Cann was revealed innocent but the killings continued with no sign of stopping, Polaris lost her grip on reality. Confused by nonsensical visions that raged around her, all that she could focus on was a rampaging madman...he was unstoppable...just like these killings...

Rogue looked at the blue woman in the mirror. She had no idea how her mind had become such a shambles. Everything around her was falling apart, literally. The walls were beginning to fade and crack. The lights were beginning to dim. All the remaining personas she had trapped were also dealing with the grave circumstances. Thor had apparently been able to regain his male form on his own and subsequently lost all desire to find the killer of his teammates. Several were now handicapped in some way. For some reason Thing was just a rocky disembodied hand. “Oh, Thing. I get it now.” Rogue actually surprised herself when she started laughing out loud. From behind, Rogue heard and all too familiar voice. “The situation is laughable isn’t it Sugah?” Spinning around Rogue saw, herself. But the true white skinned version of herself. “All right who are you, and what sick game are you playin’ now?” The faux Rogue struck a seductive pose as blue Rogue circled around her. “Sugah I’m just here to thank you for all that you have done. If you were such a basket case Ah neva would have been able to gain so much power. You have no idea how much it sucked being stuck in your head for all these years.” The real Rogue was shocked. “Ah thought you guys didn’t know you were trapped in my mind.” The other Rogue laughed at the originals surprise. “The others had no clue, but I am more than just a personality remnant. When you touched my host, you got a lot more than you bargained for, didn’t you. Then I just had to hide inside of you, biding my time.” Rogue grew angry. Removing her glove, she took a few steps toward her doppelganger. “What are you? Tell me or I will rip the information out of you. Just ask Mystique, it probably won’t turn out good for you.” Before Rogue could make her move, a blast of energy sent her flying across the room. When she cleared her head, all she saw was a green blur racing away from the scene.
Dazzler was wondering the withering halls of the mansion. She was unable to hear anything and therefore unable to use her powers. She was oblivious to the heavy footsteps echoing through the halls behind her. She had no idea anyone was behind her until she felt the hand on her shoulder. Spinning around, she couldn’t believe what she saw. Her dead lover, Longshot, was standing before her. Although she couldn’t hear him, she knew he was saying he loved her. They embraced and kissed. A kiss which literally took her breath away. Dazzler felt every bit of life get sucked out of her body into the false image of her lover.

Gateway accepted that there was nothing he could do about his situation, the outcome of their predicament was already decided by destiny and fate. He could only prepare for the inevitable, and meditated again. Gateway entered the dreamtime state and had a vision of an aborigine settlement in the Australian Outback. Several pottery jars were lined up all around him. In fact, they had been arranged in pairs, but at least one of each pair was damaged. Only one intact pair remained. As Gateway looked at the two jars, one was crushed by a pile of rocks and a spider crawled out. The vision at an end, Gateway knew which of them the killer had picked for the next victim. If Psylocke had truly been restored to her Caucasian self, then she should have access to her own low-level precog abilities to rely on to also determine the next victim.

Z'Cann was surprised she had lived this long, but then again the killer had already gained telepathy and shapeshifting from murdering Jean Grey and Mystique. She suppossed being in the Hulk's durable form was also less incentive for the monster to attempt to take her out. She thanked Kly'bn she still retained traces of her telepathy; despite her newfound incredible strength she would feel weak without it.
Rogue's thoughts were blaring loudly for any telepath to hear; she had just had an encounter with the killer, albeit in disguise. The killer implied he, or she, was alot more than a regular victim of Rogue's touch. Thor perhaps? He was a powerful god afterall. Or maybe a powerful telepathy like Psylocke or Rachel?
No, some thing about the killer's word struckout "When you touched MY HOST". This implied something else was living inside Rogue's victim when she absorbed them. Her eyes fell to Juggernaut or, she suspected, Cyttorakk.

Could it be...? thought Sabretooth with a wry smile, one that looked all the more sinister for his blood-stained appearance.
"Maybe Baby Grey got some of momma's temper as well as her powers," he breathed, certain that at the very sensation of his breath on her neck, he saw the alien Z'Cann flinch slightly-- a thought to keep him smiling, since she was still trapped inside the body of The Hulk.
"Was kinda hopin' it was you though, Betsy," he said, as Psylocke tried her hardest to throw a withering glare his way. He relished her anger, as it was a sign that she was only barely able to contain her fear of him. "Been a while since I played xylophone on someone's ribcage... from the inside... and you tasted SO sweet, too..."
With that, he winked at the British mutant before walking away, the strangest sensation that Gateway was silently reprimanding him for his actions with his stern gaze. Victor shrugged at the Aboriginal mutant. "Hey, I never claimed to be a good guy," he replied.

Thor looked at Dazzler again and apologized for not being all that into it. Then, Thor realized he was crazy and looked at Juggernaut instead. Argh.

Polaris had lost most of her sanity, but realized it was happening to all of them. Gateway looked like he was high and was mimicing looking at something on the ground and picking up bugs. Psylocke was awkwardly calling out that she was innocent without anyone saying anything to her. Z'Cann was mumbling something about things being inside people. Sabretooth was talking about killing everyone. Rachel was rambling off the most logically devoid reasons for why Gateway must have murdered her mom. Thor was insisting that Dazzler's dead body must be the killer. Yet Polaris didn't believe any of these lunatics were responsible. She still had her eye on Juggernaut.

Craddling the dead body of Dazzler, Cain glanced at the others as they jumped to conclusions on who to blame with some of them picking him. It wasn't new to be suspsected of horrible things of course. He was the Juggernaut after all, or at least a facsimile of that individual within Rogue's mind. Setting the singer's body down with the others he backed away. Spider-Man stood off to the side, and Cain eyed him. The webspinner was strong enough to kill others and there was something different about him it seemed. Cain would have to keep an eye on him.

The worst thing about having six arms was the sartorial asymmetry. The Spider-Man costume was made to accommodate two arms. TWO. Because he was a spider in theme and got his powers from a spider. Having six arms wasn't all that beneficial, really. Not unless one was Spiral and even then that just seemed to be an advantage expressed in dancing.
Peter was never much of a dancer.
So these other four arms bust through the costume and it just doesn't look right to have that many uncovered parts dangling out and screwing up the look. Peter put a lot of thought into his costume (not to say that it was a good costume overall but by this point the image stuck so why mess with it?) and to have it ripped without even having the excuse of battle damage or something just was not cool.
Rachel Grey shouted to anybody who would listen (so, nobody) that Gateway had to be the killer. Because... what? Well she at least managed to not make a racist argument, although saying that his only strike against him was that he was quiet and stayed in one place the entire time was a bit lacking.
Spider Man shook his head. "A mutant drumming up a witch hunt based on nothing but blind fear and anger? What, is irony one of your superpowers, too?"
Ben Grimm, who in an attempt to not be invisible (Sue could keep her gimmick) had wrapped himself in a random assortment of X-Men costumes. Style flew out the window simply in an attempt to cover his body, and so he was even worse than an early Shadowcat and crossed the threshold into the ridiculous, becoming the fashion equivalent of MeMeMe.
Thing wondered aloud, "Seems ta me that the X-Men are slim pickin's around here." Far be it for him to be so glib normally, but it could be chalked up to him not having completed his thought. "They were the first ones ta go. Sure, She-Hulk was stupid, but ain't she a lawyer in the real world? I ain't no expert but I heard the LSAT's just a logic test. Why are the X-Men gettin' killed off one by one when their whole thing is to stick together? They ain't solo heroes, their whole gimmick's overwhelming group force. Me, Spidey, Hulk--"
"Z'Cann," the Skrull telepath corrected.
"Whatever. We ain't part of the X-Men. We can go off on our own and we're still kinda safe. We can fight our own battles. But the X-Men shoulda been walkin' lock step with each other and they all decided now was the time to get some space? Don't make any sense."
Nodding, Spider-Man also noted, "What's also apparent is that those of us who aren't X-Men are redundant. Thor, no offense, doesn't do much that Storm can't do. Might be stronger at it but nevertheless Thor offers nothing new. I'm just a strong, fast guy. My webs aren't actually a power of mine, it's a mechanical thing. Flatly, if Rogue's mind was entirely composed of her friends and historical enemies, leaving out the Asgardians or anyone not in the X-Men, the killer would have access to the same powers. We just don't offer anything new."
"So then why are we here?"
"Spoilers, I'd imagine. Rogue's mind must have realized what was going on and developed a defense mechanism. So it conjured people she didn't really know, hoping we'd be either skeptical or cynical enough to not implicitly trust anyone here. But we haven't stopped anything yet because we just don't know enough about the other personalities either."
"Yeah. As much as I love a good fight, sounds ta me like we need to think this one out, instead just pulling accusations out our rear ends. Sorry, kid."
Thing's voice was the only tell he could give for some sympathy to the on-again, off-again host of the Phoenix Force.

Thor wandered aimlessly through the fading halls of the Xavier Mansion. Even though Thing had decorated himself to make himself visible, the Norse God still bumped right into him. Ben tried to do the macho thing and stand up to the Avenger, but Thor simply kept walking by. As Thing watched the God trudge down the hall, he thought to himself how lost he looked. However, all that changed when a fiery red arm burst through the wall, wrapped itself around Thor and dragged him through. Ben Grimm hurried as fast as he could to the hole and was shocked by all the divine blood splattered around. Then the Thing came face to face with the monster that was attempting to gain control of Rogue’s body. Despite a fierce determination, the Thing was swiftly torn apart by the assailant.
Rogue called a meeting of all the survivors in the forayer where this all started.”This is it everybody. Do or die time. We aren’t leaving this spot until someone confesses.”

Two more were gone, some of the strongest. That could mean that Cain was next. If the Thing and Thor could not fight back then there was no hope for the weakened powers Cain now possessed. Moving towards the others he came to a stop beside Marvel Girl and rested a hand upon her shoulder. "Please, just finish it now. The anticipation is too much to bear. I know you're the killer, so just do it now."

"Z'Cann smash!" roared the skrull, before suddenly getting ahold of herself and edging out of into the hallway in embarassment.
Seeing Juggernaut trying to deflect suspicion onto Rachel drove her into a hulkian rage.

Gateway realized that they were at a crucial point - if they didn't act fast, there was no more chance to avoid senseless death and destruction. He whirled his bullroarer around his head, and suddenly an energy vortex appeared carrying ghostly images of everyone present. The images began to spin around Gateway faster and faster, with some eventually fading in the background as they were revealed innocent.
Only five suspects remained, but only three of them could still be forced to prove their innocence before the killer would strike again - Spider-Man, Juggernaut and the Phoenix. Unfortunately, they only had enough power to draw out two of these three. As Gateway closely inspected the three visions before him, he was curious which ones the others would accuse..... the six-armed Spider-Man, who now looked like a male Spiral, the unstoppable avatar of a powerful demon or the living embodiment of a primal force of the universe?
Juggernaut nervously eyed the ghostly images dancing around Gateway's head.

Although Rachel was sure that Gateway was the killer she decided to focus the totality of her telepathic might on forcing a confession out of the Juggernaut..
This will be over soon, one way or another!

The mental imprint of Spider-Man threw all six of his arms into the air upon witnessing Gateway's display of... whatever that was. "Oh, come on! You could've done that stuff the whole time and you just sat there? Thanks for not really helping. Really. I just have a hard time figuring out if you put effort into not being useful or if it comes naturally to you."
Rachel was asked to end it all by Cain Marko, no relation to Flint Marko, Man Mountain Marko, or Marko Djurdjević -- all villains of the illest repute (also there are too many guys named Marko skulking around... just a thought). Spidey couldn't help but notice that the one guy who should be ready and willing to fight it out was just altogther giving up. What kind of Juggernaut is this?
Cyttorak am disappoint.
"While on the one hand part of me wants to just do it the Sabretooth way and start a brawl right now and let the culprit show themselves in the melee, I'd also ask how the bunch of us are supposed to fight off somebody with all those powers. It'd be like tangling with the Beyonder all over again. And where the heck are the real X-Men?"
Indeed, one would imagine that if what Polaris said were true, then the X-Men would probably want to get on this. Then again even a psychic approximation of Spider-Man that Rogue met years ago knew that the X-Men loved to allow things to blow up in their faces. It was like they couldn't get to sleep at night unless they allowed something to go horribly wrong.

Rogue lay sprawled on the ground. All around her were the remaining personalities in her head. Together, they had managed to force the Juggernaut to reveal his guilt. However, they were unprepared for his actions after his revelation. The Juggernaut was actually a fragment of the ancient Cyttorak. Using the combined powers of all those he killed, he managed to incapacitate all those who remained in his way of gaining a new body. “I can finally escape this dull prison you call your mind. Luckily for me, it was ripe with powerful victims. Once I fully take over your body, I can use these powers to subdue your real friends and teammates. Then I will add their power to my own. The World will once again be under the reign of the mighty Cyttorak!” As the crimson demon prepared to fatally strike the southern beauty, a bright white appeared before him. Then appeared the astral form of Emma Frost. “Rogue you haven’t been beaten yet. I will help you join with the other survivors. Together you can stop him.” At once the remaining psychic remnants disappeared and join with Rogue. Rogue could feel the combined psychic energies of Psylock, Z’Cann, Rachael, and Gateway. The raw magnetic power of Polaris coursed through her as well. Rogue could feel the strength of Spiderman and the savagery of Sabertooth. Standing up she steered her near invulnerable opponent in the face. “This is my mind, my body you red bastard. If you want it come and take it.”
“Rogue? Rogue, are you ok?” Rogue shook her head; she was lying on a table in the X-Men’s sick bay. She saw Emma Frost looking down at her. “Welcome back, hopefully you will never have to go through anything like that again. How do you feel?” Shaking her head a smile appeared on Rogue’s lips. “Honestly Emma, I feel unstoppable.”
