This article attempts to give newcomers a point of reference for jumping into the world of the X-Men, rather than throwing them into the deep end of the pool. A very generic overview is provided, followed by suggestions on how to proceed. There is no right or wrong way to approach reading the X-Men titles or the thousands of appearances by their characters in the past. Hopefully, this primer aids newcomers in finding what is the best way for them to proceed
