ALTERNATE VERSIONS

The most obvious counterpart of Armor is 616's very own Armor. Instead of being a peer, she was introduced as student of the X-Men in Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run. Her friend Wing was depowered, then pushed to suicide during the initial run, and Hisako had to grow up fast. Since then, she has become somewhat of a consistent supporting character and one of the more vocal of the last large grouping of X-Men students. Unlike the Ultimate version of the character, this Hisako was Japanese (not Japanese-American) and her powers did not have any kind of mystical bent. For more on this version of Hisako read our ARMOR SPOTLIGHT.

Most Alternate Versions of Armor are expanded upon in the core Armor spotlight. One such Armor is notable, as she is supposedly a direct counterpart of the Ultimate version. Reed Richards of the Ultimate Universe manipulated the reality Earth-6160 to remove threats to himself before they developed. A version of Armor somehow slipped through the cracks. She is 15 years old and is due to be the protagonist of the new Ultimate X-Men series. A step up from the solidly supporting role all other versions of Armor have had.
