In the mutant dominated House of M reality, Lara's abilities allowed her to soar to far greater heights than Earth-616. She was a movie star! Her illusion-casting abilities allowed her to impersonate long dead actors, such as Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe (as part of an agreement with the actors’ union). She had married Kauffman, a producer in this world, who had discovered her working in a burlesque show. The marriage was not a successful one, at least not romantically. Lara, in a word, was unfulfilled by Kauffman's performance in the bedroom and sought out lovers. After a foiled assassination attempt of Kauffman at her latest premiere (a sequel to Monroe's “Some like it hot”), Lara met Detective Ortega. The two embarked on an affair just as they had done on Earth-616. Unfortunately, due to Lara's celebrity status, it became tabloid news. Humiliated, Kauffman imprisoned Lara and hired an assassin to kill Ortega. In an act of heroism, Lara managed to free herself and tried to save Detective Ortega. While successful, his daughter was accidentally killed by the assassin in his stead, just before reality reset.

While not confirmed as a counterpart, Lara bore several similarities to an anti-hero from Earth-712 (also known as the Squadron Supreme reality). The original Moonglow, like Lara, was an illusionist and, underneath her guise of a statuesque, stunning, blonde bombshell, was a “dowdy,” slightly overweight brunette. While most of the characters on Earth-712 have no counterpart on Earth-616, there were a few exceptions, such as Sebastian Shaw. Most likely, the women are merely joined by having a very similar “concept” but, given quite how similar they were, it was worth nothing.
