The PEAK:
One hour ago, a cloaked AIM extraction team broke in and kidnapped three mutants. Wolverine gateways onto the station and literally drops after the AIM ship (no spacesuit or anything). He lands on the vessel. Through a window, he sees the AIM agents in their usual yellow bodysuits. He slices the ship open and very soon the AIM agents from that room are helplessly floating in space.
He gets in and walks through an airlock, until he reaches a computer. He hates computers. Nevertheless, he uses it to get intel. He sees a map of the plan which includes abducting the mutants and getting them to an AIM dreadnaught.
As if on cue, the dreadnought appears and docks the smaller vessel.
Suddenly, a grimace appears on the screen, identifying itself as a MODOK AI, which announces the mission objectives: infiltrate SWORD station the PEAK.
Little late to the party, Logan mutters. The question is why. The AI replies, acquire specific mutant samples (alive) for use in Project TUNDRA. Acquire dummy mutant sample (dead or alive) for misdirection. It’s okay if he is confused, the AI patronizes him. Even if they explained, he wouldn’t understand it. Yes, Wolverine, it is talking to him.
What the hell? Wolverine swears. Does he think it can’t see him? the AI continues. Does he think this ship is not alive? And does he really think it wouldn’t sacrifice the ship for science? Because he’d be wrong!
As Wolverine realizes this is not good, the AI initiates the self-destruct sequence.
As it counts down, Wolverine runs and finds the AIM agents currently delivering the three mutants in containers to the dreadnought. However, he is on the wrong side of the door. As the countdown reaches one, the vessel is destroyed.
Caught in the explosion, as he clings to the dreadnought’s hull, Wolverine recalls how much he hates computers.
