Brief Description:

A news report about Mt. McKenna, Canada, activates a chip in Wolverine's
mind, and he leaves to there to find answers. Shadowcat and Nightcrawler,
who were at the back of the jet when it took off, are forced to join this
journey, though Logan locks them away to protect them from his chip. In
Canada, Sabretooth and the Weapon X scientist capture Wolverine and raise
the chip's influence on him. Then, the scientist sends Wolverine and
Sabretooth to attack Shadowcat and Nightcrawler. Kitty manages to get
through to Logan and remind him who he is, and he hurries to the lab. With
Kitty and Kurt's help, the lab is destroyed, and "Project: Weapon X" is
terminated. In a surgery, Logan's chip is removed.

Full Synopsis:

Logan is having a dream of him floating in a green tube. He pops his claws,
breaks the glass and escapes. Flashes of him running in the woods, his claw,
and him battling Sabretooth are seen. Logan falls from bed and wakes up.

In Kitty and Rogue's room, the alarm clock wakes Kitty up. She phases her
hand through it, short-circuiting it, and gets up to the bathroom. She
phases through the door despite the "OCCUPIED" sign, and Rogue yells at her
to get out. Kitty leaves and apologizes, annoyed.

Later, she's already dressed. She's typing an e-mail to her parent: "Dear
mom and dad, today started out just like all the other school days, with
everyone feeling a little crowded, me included, especially with a roommate
like Rogue. Though, it's not real easy to get close to her, or healthy
either." Rogue starts making noise, blowing her hair, and Kitty phases to
the hall. There, she sees Scott, Jean, Kurt and Evan walking in their
sleepwear and muttering. They walk away, still talking, not paying any
attention to her. She stares at them.

In the kitchen, Kitty's continuing writing her e-mail: "Finding a place to
be alone around here is really a matter of timing - sometimes you have to
settle, like when Mr. Logan's around, but that's okay because he doesn't
want to talk to anybody." She stops and tells Logan, who's sitting by the
window, how she's enjoying the quiet, when suddenly the rest of the X-Men
walk inside in a hurry and start eating, and Scott turns on the television.
Kitty is again annoyed by the noise, when suddenly everybody quiet down as
Logan turns up the volume on the TV – there's a new report about a
Bigfoot-like creature spotted in the Canadian wilderness – as a result,
authorities have closed Mt. McKenna National Park until further notice.
Hearing the name Mt. McKenna, Logan storms out of the kitchen. Kitty, in her
e-mail, writes: "It's like sometimes Mr. Logan can be so incredibly rude,
you know? I mean, Professor Xavier is always saying that we're kind of like
a family here and we all have to get along, but Mr. Logan doesn't act like
it. He's always going off doing this lone wolf thing. I mean, it's not like
his life is so much tougher than ours."

Logan storms into his room, holding his head. He suddenly goes into
berserker rage, growling, throwing furniture and slicing around with his
claws. Kitty walks outside just in time to see his claws slice the door, and
asks him if he's okay. He says he's just fine – redecorating – and closes
the door.

In the foyer, Evan is shooting spikes at the ceiling to nail a poster of The
Festering Boils. Kitty enters and asks him what he's doing, and he says he
didn't have space for this in his room. She says they all share this area -
what if some of them don't like The Festering Boils? He tells her to deal
with it and leaves. She sits in his place and opens her laptop, when
suddenly the poster falls on her. She writes in her e-mail: "Evan is the
youngest and he is so immature, you know? It's like he has no idea how his
actions effect the rest of us. Then again, like, maybe he does."

Outside the garage, Kitty sits on a tree branch and watches Scott working on
his car as she continues her e-mail: "Some of the kids around here are
pretty nice, like Scott - sometimes he tries to be so totally responsible
for Professor Xavier and the other students. Then, other times, he acts just
like a regular high school kid." Scott turns on the loud radio, startling
Kitty, and drives away. She writes: "Today, he's definitely a kid." She sees
Xavier and Logan talking, and writes: "Thank goodness for Professor Xavier -
he keeps a lid on things around here - not an easy job sometimes, especially
with Mr. Logan. I bet he really gets after him for trashing his room." Logan
explains to Xavier that something in that news story set him off – there's
something in his head, buried. He asks the professor to get inside and see
if he can't pry it loose, and Xavier agrees. Xavier gets into Wolverine's
mind, and sees flashes of Logan in the green tube. He tells Logan it wasn't
a dream – it was a memory long forgotten or rather, suppressed - a glimpse
of how he came to acquire his unusual implements. They continue, and flashes
of a forest, Sabretooth and a man in a black coat are seen. Logan says that
whatever happened to him, that's where it started - with that ghoul in the
black coat - he's the guy who did this. He gets up and leaves to Mt.
McKenna, Canada, to explore his past.

In the jet, Kitty is continuing her e-mail: "Well, I guess I better sign off
before Kurt pops in here and finds me. He's always doing that, totally
freaks me. Besides, I'm about late for school." Just like she predicted,
Kurt pops in to find her, freaking her out, and asks why she's there. She
answers she's there out of necessity, and he tells her to come on, Scott's
giving them a ride to school. She angrily says all she wanted was just one
minute alone in the whole stupid mansion, when suddenly the engines start
and the jet takes off. They see that Logan is piloting, and Kurt wants to go
talk to him. Kitty tells him Logan's been acting mega-weird all morning, but
he tells her no to be dramatic and goes. Logan gets alarmed and almost cuts
off Kurt's head, and Kurt hurried to teleport back to Kitty. Wolverine
switches to autopilot and angrily asks Nightcrawler and Shadowcat why
they're following him. He pops his claws, and they teleport backwards,
scared. He says he has to take them back, they have to get away – there's
something in his head and he can't control it – he can't be trusted. He
shuts a door between them and locks it. Kurt panics, saying he locked them
out, but Kitty says he shut himself in so they'd be safe. Nightcrawler says
that a crazy person is flying the plane and that's not safe. Shadowcat asks
him if he can teleport them to the ground, nut Nightcrawler says they're too
high up and way too fast - they're stuck on the flight. The jet lands near
Mt. McKenna, and Wolverine starts walking. Shadowcat phases out and watches
him. Nightcrawler teleports besides her and says that he was in the cockpit,
but something's jamming the transmitter way out there – they can't reach the
Institute. They decide to follow Wolverine on their own.

In a laboratory, the man with the black coat from Logan's memories, the
Weapon X scientist, is telling Sabretooth that the chip in Wolverine's brain
is still active after all these years and yet, through shear force of will,
Wolverine has managed to subdue it until now. Sabretooth asks why now, and
the scientist answers that he supposes Wolverine just got too comfortable
with Xavier and let his guard down, and certain news footage did the rest –
"Bigfoot" was really Sabretooth. The scientist tells Sabretooth to go greet
their old colleague, and Sabretooth growls and leaves.

In the woods, Sabretooth leaps at Wolverine, and they start battling.
Wolverine wins, and demands answers from his old foe, when the scientist
appears and tells him he'll get his answers, but he'll wish he hadn't. He
presses on his remote, and Wolverine falls to the ground, holding his head.
Sabretooth pounds on him and welcomes him home.

In the Weapon X laboratory, the scientist tells Logan he's aged remarkably
well, if at all, and his recuperative powers have served him well - now,
it's time they serve the scientist, especially since Logan's enhancements
represent quite the financial investment. Logan sees the green tube and asks
the scientist who ordered his adamantium skeleton, and the scientist says he
can hardly believe Logan hasn't figured that out by now. Sabretooth enters,
and tells the scientist they're ready for training. The scientist pushes a
button, and the monitors show the test subjects - Nightcrawler and
Shadowcat. Wolverine yells "no", but the scientist brings him to his knees
again with the remote and says that it's time they resume "Project: Weapon
X" – Sabretooth and Wolverine's development as the ultimate mutant slayers.

On the hills, Shadowcat and Nightcrawler are looking for Wolverine. They
finally see him standing on a small cliff and Kitty calls him, when suddenly
they see Sabretooth walking behind him. Kitty doesn't understand, as she
knows Wolverine and Sabretooth are mortal enemies, but Kurt says that
they're their mortal enemies and they run away, Wolverine and Sabretooth
after them. Wolverine tries to hit Shadowcat, but she dodges him and falls
off the side of the gorge. Sabretooth jumps at Nightcrawler, but
Nightcrawler teleports around. Logan jumps after Kitty to hit her, but
struggles against the chip as she reminds him who he is and who she is and
that they're friends, or at least close enough.

In the lab, the scientist raises the chip's power.

Wolverine growls, pops his claws and starts chasing Shadowcat again. They
run through the forest, Logan cutting everything in his way, until Kitty
phases into a rock wall and out the other side, almost falling off the
ledge.

Nightcrawler teleports around, looking for Kitty, when Sabretooth jumps at
him again. They start jumping from tree to tree, until Sabretooth manages to
knock Nightcrawler down and jumps at him. Nightcrawler teleports.

Wolverine is looking for Kitty and, thinking she fell off the ledge, cries
out "no!" Kitty phases from the ground behind him and he senses her and
turns around. He tries struggling the chip. Kurt teleports in and prepares
to teleport out with Kitty, and she tells him not to, as she's just getting
through to Logan. She talks to Logan, reminding him who they are and that
they had breakfast together, and telling him that whatever they did to him,
he can fight it and win. He finally stops growling, retracts his claws and
falls to his knees, and she hugs him. Sabretooth shows up and tackles
Wolverine, and they fall off the ledge. Logan starts running, Sabretooth
chasing him. Shadowcat says they have to stop them, and they teleport.

In the lab, the scientist asks Sabretooth where's Wolverine. Sabretooth says
he entered the lab, and the scientist orders him to come down to protect
him. Wolverine slices through the door, and the scientist raises the chip's
power again.

Sabretooth enters the structure, ready to fight Wolverine, but Nightcrawler
teleports in front of him and tells him that if he'll touch him he'll find
himself transported two miles into the woods. They start battling, as
Shadowcat phases her way to the lab.

Wolverine manages to break inside, and the scientist activates security
drones – little robots that start attacking Logan. Shadowcat enters and
short-circuits the robots and the computer, making things explode and catch
fire. Wolverine prepares to attack the scientist and tells Kitty to leave,
but she says not without him. Kurt teleports in and teleports away with
Kitty, as Sabretooth enters. "Project: Weapon X" has been terminated.

The lab explodes, as Kurt and Kitty teleport outside. Later, they're
watching the destruction, as Wolverines steps out and collapses at their
feet.

Wolverine wakes up in the Institute, and Professor X tells him he's safe.
Logan asks what about the kids and Xavier answers that they're both fine -
Kitty's been in there every hour checking on him after the surgery – they
removed the chip. Logan promises that someday, he'll find out who had this
done to him.

In the hall, Scott, Jean, Rogue and Evan are complaining to Kurt that
they're hungry and that it's not fair Kitty has the kitchen all to herself.
Kurt tells them to relax and give her a minute – nobody's gonna starve to
death.

In the kitchen, Kitty's completing her e-mail: "So, like I said this
morning, it's just been another normal day here at the Xavier Institute.
Funny, I've been complaining about not having enough time alone, right? But
I think I'd, like, miss bumping into everyone. It's just part of the deal
when you're a part of a family."
