EQUES

Daniel's father was a scientist but retired after experiencing an unknown accident at work. He opened the horse ranch in Dallas soon after. Daniel loved the ranch and the horses. In his early teens his mutant powers developed. Being a mutant made him feel isolated but he still had his horses. Some time later he was tracked down by Magneto who hoped to recruit him for his Brotherhood. Magneto convinced him that the X-Men were the real enemy so when they similarly tried to recruit him he reacted violently siding with Magneto. During their battle with the X-Men, Magneto showed a disregard for the wellbeing of Eques' horses resulting in him turning on him. After the battle with Magneto, the X-Men offered Eques a place in the school but he turned it down as he wanted to remain with his horses.

The issue Eques appeared in was a free comic given with Dallas Times Herald in October 1983. He has not reappeared, possibly Marvel do not own the rights to the character/he is not canon.
