Gideon's first death was on the voyage to the Americas with Christopher Columbus.

Gideon was absorbed by Selene's powers in X-Force (1st series) #52. Technically dead, his immortal body regenerated centuries in the future and traveled back to the present, as seen in Cable (1st series) #150-154.
