Death I is the embodiment of death, Death II belonged to a set of Horsemen that battled the Fantastic Four.

In the Infinity: The Hunt limited series, Sanjar was inexplicably alive, benevolent, and running a Pan-Asian school for super-kids with Jimmy Woo. No explanation for this has been forthcoming, but he has since resurfaced. In X-Men: Before the Fall -- Mutant First Strike #1, Sanjar also revealed he could invert his powers, protecting others from ailments instead of projecting them. Thus, he said, "Death has become Life".
