Appearing in X-Men (2nd series) #1-3, the original Acolytes were gathered by Fabian Cortez to worship Magneto and carry out acts of mutant supremacy in his name. Their reign was short-lived when Cortez revealed himself to be part of the Upstarts competition, leaving Magneto and his brethren to die on Asteroid M to gain "points" for their deaths.
