Jahf and Modt were selected by races or beings long forgotten to protect the Nexus of All Realities and its conduit, the M'Kraan Crystal. They occasionally allow the reverent Shi'ar to make pilgrimages to the crystal's moon, but otherwise repel all who try to approach the Nexus.
