In the Ultraverse, the mysterious Contrary ran an Academy for the New Elite, a school for young Ultras classified as "Freex". These Ultras were created by Contrary years earlier when she posed as a nurse and introduced a wetware virus into infants across the country, causing them to manifest Ultra powers at puberty.
Other members unrelated to the X-Men include Contrary, Feline, Fly-Girl, Pixx, Waver and Boom Boy.
