BIOGRAPHY
Little is known about the history of the former Morlock, Electric Eve. She has claimed that, prior to the advent of her mutant power, she had been kicked out of her family home. Later, while studying in Chicago, she became addicted to heroin and fell in love with her dealer, Ricky. Ricky forced Eve into prostitution. During a rendezvous with one of her clients, her mutant powers activated, killing him. She fled, traumatized by the incident and lusting for revenge against Ricky for what he had done to her. At some point shortly after, she met Postman's Chicago-based Morlock group and joined.
[Note: It was not stated but implied that Eve beat heroin after the death of her “John.” Possibly her powers negated the drugs effect.]
Eve was one of the more militant members of the new group and was unhappy that they had to hide in the sewers. The group did return to the surface but it was only to steal. On the return to their base, following a heist on a local supermarket, they inadvertently came across a new mutant, later dubbed Cell. He was being pursued by local law enforcement. Eve was keen to get into the fray but her powers were still somewhat uncontrollable and she short circuited. Fortunately, the rest of the group were able to deal with the cops and the Morlocks fled with their latest recruit.
Eve was the least welcoming to Cell, calling him a “walking amoeba” and she even shocked him at one point. Postman told Cell about their group and explained they all had one final “wish” to achieve on the surface world and had agreed to help each other achieve it. Eve at this point was keeping her true “wish” to herself.
Back at the base camp, Postman was trying to burn an American flag off Litterbug. The group's other female member, Angel Dust, was upset by his screams. Eve stated she was not phased and that he was okay; he was tough. Angel Dust was revolted and thought Eve was just being cold. When the conversation turned tense, Eve explained that she wasn't cold but she had become accustomed to pain at this stage from her life as junkie, a prostitute and a mutant. Eve, as arguably the Morlocks most powerful member, then attempted to intimidate Angel Dust with a power display. The provocation worked, as Angel Dust suddenly had to be held back by two of the male members of the team. Using her super strength, she flung them behind her and, believing she had seriously injured one of them, ran off. Trader questioned Eve as to why she was provoking Angel Dust and Eve explained she thought the girl needed to toughen up to survive the life that they were forced to lead.
The same night, the group started to check off their wishes. Eve was second to go and had told Postman and the others that she had intended to force her former pimp to return a family heirloom. This was a lie, and after the rest of the Morlocks dealt with security of the building in which Ricky lived, Eve went up to his penthouse. Ricky was sitting in a pool. Initially, he didn't even remember her, though he was still aroused seeing her, not yet understanding the only thing on her mind was murder. Eve stripped down to her bikini her eyes glowing blue and confronted him about what he had done to her. When he realized the danger of the situation and went to reach for his gun, Eve stepped into the pool, her electric powers supercharged by the water. Ricky died instantly and Eve collapsed on the ground, having taken out the power for the entire building. She was found by Trader. In his arms, she told him that people were wrong; revenge felt wonderful.
Postman was furious that Eve had made them accessories to murder but had very little time to admonish her, as the group were soon found by Sentinels. Thanks to Litterbug, they managed to escape to the tunnels. Postman continued his tirade against Eve, stating she had violated their agreement. She was adamant she had not. They had no terms and everyone else was being selfish, so why not her as well? Trader defended her; he had been mistreated by a human too and was also seeking retribution via murder for his own wish.
As the debate raged, mutant hunters found them and just as they were about to fire on Eve, Trader jumped in front of her, saving her life. Eve immediately avenged him and killed the gunmen. During the Sentinel attack, Shatter had been injured and Angel Dust was holding him. As she was about to be shot, Eve again killed those attackers. Even with Eve's powers, though, they were still overwhelmed. The team's leader, Postman, lashed out with his telepathic gifts, wiping the minds of the soldiers. In the aftermath, he apologized to Eve and acknowledged he was being a hypocrite. Eve was on the ground with her hands on Trader, she believed it was time for them all to leave Chicago for their own safety. She encouraged the group to expedite their last wishes.
Angel Dust's involved saying goodbye to her family. She had believed that they would have rejected her when they realized she was a mutant. This turned out to be incorrect. Due to the threat level, she had to leave them anyway. Despite her own family turmoil and the conflict the two had earlier, Eve still comforted Angel Dust as she broke down. Litterbug t
ook this moment to make a confession; prior to the his powers developing, he had been a mechanic in the Sentinel program. He believed the only chance they had of survival was to take down the Sentinel central command in Chicago and then flee the city. Eve and most of the others were furious and wanted to reject Litterbug. Shatter, however, convinced them to forgive as they needed to be unified to survive. The team took down a Sentinel and used it as a “Trojan Horse” to infiltrate the base. Eve proved instrumental in the attack and she reached the central computer and overloaded it with her electric powers, short circuiting the Sentinels who were all connected to it.
Cell had been killed in the attack and Angel Dust opted to return home to her family. Eve, along with the remaining three members (Shatter, Litterbug and Postman), fled south in a stolen van. [Morlocks #1-4] What exactly happened with the foursome is unclear, however Postman and Shatter were both soon depowered by the Scarlet Witch during the M-Day and Litterbug joined one of Masque's iterations of the Morlocks. Regardless, Eve went on to find herself incarcerated in the Robert Kelly Correctional Facility.
Unfortunately, Eve managed to fall in with a bad crowd again and joined a gang run by a mutant called “Crazy Maisie.” When Kitty Pryde, Rachel Summers and Storm were temporarily imprisoned, Maisie challenged the trio to a fight. Alongside another Morlock named Bliss, Eve fought Rachel Summers. Lacking any combat training between the two of them, Rachel easily subdued them. Whether Eve is still serving her time is unknown. [Note: The prison's purpose was to hold mutants, so it seems likely that Eve kept her powers after the Decimation event. Further, she was wearing an inhibitor collar, which was unlikely just being used in the event of a spontaneous repowering. The reason for her incarceration was not disclosed but it seems likely it was for one of the deaths that she was responsible for.]
