X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

Story:
Genosha. A land where mutants are being held against their will by the evil Apocalypse as the world turns a blind eye. Professor Charles Xavier has sent 5 of his X-men to the Island in order to free them. At the start of the game, the X-men take separate missions in order to weaken Genosha and allow them easier access to apocalypse’s fortress. However, even if they manage to defeat Apocalypse, can an even greater threat to Xavier’s dream be lurking in the shadows?

Playable Characters/Mutant Powers/Strengths and weaknesses:
The powers and abilities of the X-Men are activated by combinations of the directional buttons. Here is a quick reference key which will make them easier to remember.
NOTE: All commands are done assuming your character is facing right. If facing left, reverse any forward and away commands.

F – forward
DF- Down +Forward on the direction pad
D – Down on directional pad
Up – Up on directional pad
Attack – Y button on the control pad
Jump – B button on control pad
Button + button – press at same time
Button , button – tap the first button in the sequence, then quickly tap the next one

QCF – Quarter circle forward (Start at down on the directional pad, roll your finger toward DF, and up to F in a 90 degree motion.)

Cyclops
Optic Blast – QCF+Attack
Kneeling Optic Blast – F, DF, D + Attack
Slide Kick – F, F + Attack
Roundhouse Kick – Up + Attack
Note: Cyclops moves slower than the other X-men, but his long range attacks are stronger than Gambit’s. His close range attacks are also very effective in battle, especially his sliding kick. His optic blast can also be performed in the air.

Psylocke
Flip Kick – Up + Y
Jumping somersault attack – Jump, D + Attack
Psychic Dagger – QCF + Attack
Slide – F, F + Attack
Knee Attack – F, D, DF + Attack
Psylocke is the weakest of the 5 X-Men, but her jumping somersault attack can be performed repeatedly in succession to apply massive damage. This technique can be used to get up to a higher ground in her level.

Beast
Flying Kick – Up + Attack
Walk on ceiling – Jump, Hold Up
Headbutt – F, F + Attack
In spite of his slowness, Beast is only second to Wolverine in terms of agility and his attacks are the strongest in the game. His ceiling walking ability can be utilized to get the drop on enemies in the later levels of the game.

Wolverine
Diving Claw attack – D + attack in mid air
Charging claw – F, F + Attack
Tornado Claw – F, DF, F + Attack
To Climb a Wall, hold forward wile jumping towards it.
Wolverine is fast and his attacks are deadly. He is one of the better characters in the game. Use his diving claw and charging Claw attacks often to inflict maximum damage on an enemy. His wall climbing ability is also useful too.

Gambit
Kicking attack- Up + Attack
Kinetic Card – F, F + Attack
Super Kinetic Card – QCF + Attack
Vertical Kinetic Card – Up, Up+Attack
Gambit is the jack-of-all-trades balanced character of the game. He isn’t as agile or as strong as Beast or Wolverine, his kicking and staff attacks are effective and can be chained into combos. His projectile attack isn’t as strong as Cyclops’s, but it’s quicker and can be fired upward. Use this technique to help you defeat the boss of his stage.

Major Villains:
Apocalypse, Sentinels, Brood, Tusk, Magneto, Exodus, Omega Red (Danger room hologram), Juggernaut (Danger room Hologram), Acolytes

Supporting Characters:
The only supporting character in the game is Professor X, and he will brief the X-men between levels.

Additional Tips and Secrets:
Collect 3 blue X-plates in any one level to gain an extra life for that character.

To enter the passwords, select the Password option from the main menu and
press A. You are presented with 8 X-Men icons in 2 rows of 4, you can
change them by using the Directional button and pressing A to move on to the next one.
