Full Summary:

O.Z.Chase, an old friend of Dazzler (whom she met in the last issues of her solo series) reads of the X-Men’s death in the newspaper. He re-reads a letter Alsion wrote to him while the team was based on Alcatraz :

(In the past, during the time the letter was written )

Dazzler trains in the Danger Room and is doing well. Suddenly Wolverine enters and provokes her by calling her “amateur“, Dazzler gets angered and makes mistakes resulting in her being defeated by the Danger Room’s robots. After taking a shower she complains to Rogue and Psylocke. While reading a newspaper Betsy discovers an article about a captured werewolf killer in Florida, she suspects him to be a mutant like Wolfsbane. Alsion is shocked that the picture shows O.Z.Chase. She decides to leave immediatly to help him on her own, but Wolverine follows, thinking she might need back-up.

Once in Miami, the police does not let Dazzler speak to the O.Z., so she sneaks into the impound where she discovers his car and Cerebrus the dog. In the meantime Logan deals with a russian agent that has been stalking them. Logan then gets himself arrested purposely, just in time to witness Chase being interrogated by more agents; Logan and Chase bust out and meet Dazzler back in the hotel, where he can tell them what really happened. O.Z. had been hired to bring in a drug dealer, but when he fought him, he discovered that he was mutant with lightbased powers. He was rendered unconscious by a blast and awakened when the police arrived. While he was out, the mutant had killed his own people putting the blame on O.Z. From the booking photo Logan recognizes the drug dealing mutant to be another russian agent named Valdimir Zaitsev.

Henry Peter Gyrich arrives on the scene. In prison O.Z. was bugged, that is how he found out about Logans and Dazzlers involvement. He offers a deal : all charges against them are dropped, if they bring in Zaitsev alive, he plans to make him into a double-agent to infiltrate the russian mutant program. The quartett then hunts Zeitsev through the florida swamps, during the fight Dazzler is almost shot, but reacts instinctivly to Logan’s warning. In the end Zaitsev is killed by the dog Cerberus. Gyrich is annoyed and leaves; Dazzler realizes that Gyrich is so caught up in his duty that he forgot what he is defending, while she with the X-Men can make a change in the world.
