Brief Description:

In the Hollywood Mall in Los Angeles a young teenager calling herself Jubilee uses her mutant powers to generate light and small fireworks to entertain mall patrons for money. The mall security notices the young performer and attempts to apprehend her. After an unsuccessful attempt, they decide to call a group of mutant hunters called the “M Squad“ to solve the problem for them. In Australia, Rogue causes friction with her teammates because of her rage at sharing a mind with Carol Danvers. Carol is forced to resume control when the tension rises to a breaking point. Dazzler suggests that tensions could be eased with some fun and shopping. Gateway transports Storm, Rogue, Psylocke and Dazzler to the Hollywood Mall in LA where they are noticed by the young Jubilee. After a few hours of shopping the group notices the commotion of the arriving M squad. After dispatching the Squad, and their Inferno enhanced equipment, the four X-ladies return through Gateway's portal, unaware that the young Jubilee has followed them.

Full Summary:

In the Hollywood Mall in Los Angeles, a crowd gathers around a small but spectacular fireworks display. A closer look reveals the small fireworks coming out of the hands of a teenager. Some speculate that she is in fact a mutant, but most do not care. Shortly, a small group of mall security guards arrive. The guards give the teenager, calling herself Jubilee, chase. With the help of her fireworks powers, and a group of skateboarder acquaintances, Jubilee manages to elude mall security once more. Tired of their continual failure at capturing the youth, the chief decides to answer an ad for a group of mutant hunters called “the M Squad“.
In the X-Men compound in Australia an explosion erupts from Rogue's residence. Storm, Colossus and Dazzler run to investigate. A bed flies from the cabin directly at the airborne Storm. Storm manages to avoid the flying bed, but crashes through the window of Psylocke's cabin, landing in Psylocke's bubble bath, where she is still soaking.
Colossus and Dazzler enter Rogue's cabin and are quickly joined by a wet Storm and a toweled Psylocke. Rogue explains that Carol Danvers, who Rogue has been sharing a mind with, had taken control of her body. While in control of Rogue's body, Carol had redecorated Rogue's home. Rogue pleads with Psylocke to use her telepathy to remove Carol's personality from her mind. Psylocke responds that not only is it not possible, but if it were, it wouldn't be right. Rogue accuses Psylocke of taking Carol's side, and is quickly rebuffed by Storm who points out that Rogue's situation, while unintentional, is a result of Rogue's hostile actions against Carol years ago.
Rogue grows furious, exclaiming that she has never been forgiven for her crime against Carol. As she flies away, Rogue's body is retaken by Carol's personality. Carol explains that her actions with Rogue's home had been a way of trying to reach Rogue. Months previously, Rogue had been held captive by the Magistrate on Genosha. While stripped of powers and helpless, she had been molested by the guards. The recent events of Inferno had caused these memories and feelings to reemerge. Rather than allow help from Carol, Rogue shut Carol out completely. Storm points out that for everyone's sake a balance between the two personalities will have to be made.
Dazzler speaks up, pointing out that most of this tension can be a result of the cyclical nature of their lives. The X-Men's life of defending mutants and the world in general leaves little time for actual living. When Storm asks if Dazzler has a solution in mind, Dazzler suggests an evening off, filled with fun and shopping.
Later at the Hollywood Mall, the M Squad arrives. Elsewhere in the mall, Storm, Dazzler, Psylocke and the Carol controlled Rogue teleport in through one of Gateway's portals, all garbed in civilian clothes. Their arrival, and the means of their arrival, is observed by the young Jubilee who guesses that the four women are mutants like her. The quartet of x-ladies goes to a hair salon, buys new clothes, gets facials and goes to a male strip club called Hotbods. Jubilee who has been following the four X-Men attempts to enter to club to follow them. While quarrelling with the bouncer at the door she is detected with the mutant tracking equipment of M Squad.
The M Squad attacks Jubilee with their equipment. Caught in a stalemate against Jubilee and her mutant powers, the M Squad activates their Inferno magic enhanced “Mutant Containment Grid“ which emits energy tendrils and begins to drag the teen toward it's mouth. The four X-ladies hear the commotion and go to investigate. The Containment Grid, now completely out of control, is recognized by Carol/Rogue as being similar in appearance to magically transformed machinery from the Inferno conflict.
Storm, realizing that the teen is the highest priority, flies near the energy tendrils of the Grid, distracting some of its attention and power away from the youth. The M Squad, realizing that the new arrivals are mutants themselves, attack. The Squad's reckless fire causes a hanging display to fall, but luckily Carol/Rogue rescues the bystanders below. After Psyclocke manages to free Jubilee, Storm generates a hurricane force wind that flies the Containment Grid through in roof of the mall and into the sky above. With a well-aimed laser, followed by a solid light photon punch, Dazzler destroys the machine in the air.
A short while later mall security is berating the M Squad for their reckless endangerment of the mall patrons while the four X-ladies look on. As they walk through Gateway's portal, they lament that after the conflict, there was no sign of the kid they saved. After the last of the four has entered the portal Jubilee realizes that the portal is still open. She decides that whether this is by mistake or invitation she will follow, which she does.
