Predator X was originally a trio of creatures. X was first mentioned as "the creature" in New X-Men (2nd series) #33. One of them was seen in shadows in #34. They were bonded with Mercury's metal and first called Predator X in #35. Two were killed in #36, but one survived until the end of Messiah CompleX.
