COSTUME GALLERY
1) When Tim signed on with the X-Men full-time, he received a costume made of unstable molecules that could withstand the discharge of his mutant ability. Made of shades of black and blue, his suit had an open-necked black shirt with a yellow line down the left side, connecting to his bright yellow belt. His pants were blue, with a black line running from his black trunks down his legs. He wore enlarged yellow boots and yellow arm bracers over his black gloves. A deep blue-black faux leather jacket completed the look. [X-Men 2099 #4]
2) After he took a walk on the wild side, Fitzgerald began wearing a stylized death's-head mask. It started with some grease and oil painted on his face in a parking lot by La Lunatica. In El Paso, a street vendor offered to upgrade the look with an "aerosol-based osmiotic synthetic". Basically, the entire black-on-white skull look could be sprayed on his face from a can, creating a porous mask that could be removed when necessary. (The headband prominently used by Skullfire in promotional materials and trading cards never emerged in the series itself.) [X-Men 2099 #11]
3) Following his first death and resurrection, Fitzgerald adopted a slightly different look. He dropped the jacket in favor of a short-sleeved shirt with a high neck that blended into his mask. Fitz kept the same gloves, but simplified his pants and boots to basic black. A single stripe on the outside of his pants changed colors, often glowing green with his power signature. The Halo City Protectorate's 'X' symbol was imprinted on his breast. [X-Men 2099 #29]
