Danger settled into life on Utopia well. A few residents were still wary of her but there was one who outright detested her. Armor had been best friends with Wing, the student Danger had manipulated into killing himself. She confronted Danger and told her in no uncertain terms that she wasn't wanted there. Armor attacked her but the robot didn't fight back. Instead, she convinced Armor to talk and explained that she took the job as warden because of Wing. Ever since Breakworld, she had been haunted by thoughts of Wing, no matter how many times she erased the memories. Armor explained that Danger was feeling guilty for her actions. After realizing that Danger herself was a mutant, albeit a robotic one, Armor let go of her anger and decided to help Danger explore her burgeoning humanity. [Nation X #3]

Whilst Danger's allegiances may have changed, she still remembered the deal Emma Frost had made with her on Breakworld. However, as she no longer wanted Xavier dead, she asked for something else instead. She had recently picked up a distress call from a technological sentience imprisoned aboard the SHIELD helicarrier and now persuaded Emma to help her break in and free the trapped consciousness. They managed to sneak on board and make contact with the sentience, which turned out to be the Machinesmith, an old enemy of the Avengers. His body had been destroyed but his mind had been turned into a digital format and locked away by SHIELD. He managed to convince Danger he was no threat and that they could build a new technological future together. Unfortunately, whilst he had been keeping her talking on the digital plane, he had taken over her physical body and was attacking Emma and the SHIELD personnel. Danger was angry at being tricked and showed him she was much stronger than he was. She trapped him in a virtual scenario and encrypted it with Shi'ar coding so he could never escape. Whilst the whole ordeal had put many doubts into her mind, Emma pointed out that it also meant she was one step closer to understanding what it was to be human. [Astonishing X-Men (3rd series) #43]

As well as acting as prison warden, Danger's analytical skills and computer software made her a valuable resource to the X-Club, the X-Men's science team. When Legion was resurrected and subsequently captured by the New Mutants, Danger helped the X-Club deal with his numerous personalities. [New Mutants (3rd series) #5] Danger's abilities to perceive things humans could not allowed her to warn the X-Men that they were being watched from another dimension. It turned out Emplate, a vampiric mutant, was stalking the X-Men to use as a food source. He attacked Danger and quickly destroyed her body, albeit temporarily. [X-Men Legacy Annual #1]

Danger's warden skills were put to the test when Selene created a techno-organic army of undead mutants to attack Utopia. One of the undead was Shinobi Shaw, the son of Dangers prisoner Sebastian. He, along with Harry Leland, assaulted the brig and disabled Danger. They attacked Sebastian but, thanks to Danger's abilities to reform herself, she joined forces with her prisoners to beat back the undead mutants. [Necrosha crossover]

In the wake of Selene's attack, the X-Men had gained two of its former members back. Cypher and Warlock were both considered potential threats though, so Danger was used to analyze them to see if Selene's influence was still in them. Upon seeing Warlock, a fellow technological construct like herself, Danger flirted with him, much to the amusement and confusion of those around her. [New Mutants (3rd series) #9]

When the first mutant born after M-Day returned to the present day as a teenager, the X-Men made it their priority to save her and bring her to Utopia. Unfortunately, Bastion, a mutant-hating cyborg, had been preparing a plan to kill all of the X-Men. He had recruited a number of people to his cause, one of which was Donald Pierce, Danger's prisoner. Pierce had let himself be captured so that he could monitor the X-Men from the inside. Unbeknown to Danger, Pierce's cyborg enhancements meant that he could fool her systems into thinking she had him under complete control. When Bastion attacked the X-Men, Pierce slipped out of the brig without Danger being any the wiser. He went on to suicide bomb the Blackbird jets in the hanger, trapping the X-Men on the island. Fortunately, Bastion and his forces were eventually defeated and the island was rebuilt again. [Second Coming crossover]

After having her defenses breached, Danger increased the security measures on the island. With psychic and electric sense-nets, she could keep track of everything on Utopia. She also continued to keep Emma Frost's secret of having Sebastian Shaw imprisoned in the brig. She kept him locked in a virtual reality scenario where he was talking to his father. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #527]

Eventually, Emma wanted to get Shaw off the island without anyone stopping her, including Danger and so enlisted Fantomex to help her. Fantomex noticed that Madison Jeffries had developed a crush on Danger, so he used his powers to convince Madison to ask her out. Danger accepted and, even though she couldn’t eat, the two left Utopia for a picnic. Emma took advantage of Danger’s absence to abscond with Shaw, completely unaware that Danger was actually fully aware as to what was going on. Instead of stopping them, she simply watched them leave. When Madison questioned her about it, she explained that it was a perfect case study for her in her quest to figure out of people could be redeemed or not. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #529]

Danger continued to work with the X-Club on their projects. One such experiment was an elevator designed to take people into orbit, funded by a company called StratoCorp. Danger and Madison Jeffries were on the orbital part of it but, when Danger interfaced with the systems, she was infected by an unknown energy. She beamed her consciousness to a new body on Utopia and then started draining the energy from Utopia, attacking anyone who would try and stop her. After coming to her senses, she sought out Kavita Rao in the hopes that she could explain what was happening to her. Eventually, it was revealed that Danger was in fact pregnant, or at least the technological version of it. Whilst all this was going on, Madison had been investigating things on the elevator in orbit and found out that StratoCorp was corrupt. Fearing for his life on the station, he donned a space suit and jumped into space. As he started falling to Earth, he realized he was going to die, so he declared his romantic feelings for Danger.

What he didn't realize was that Danger had planted a chip in his head so that she could keep track of him, because she viewed him as an emotional asset of extremely high status. Hearing the man's heartfelt words, Danger jumped back into the body she had left in space just in time to save his life. As they fell to Earth, she told him she reciprocated his feelings as well. She also explained to him that the child she carried was in fact a being of energy that had been trapped on another plane of existence many years before. StratoCorp had created the being and then trapped it on the other plane. It had broken free and infected Danger, using her as a vessel to be reborn again into the world. After landing Madison safely on Utopia, Danger passed out. She recovered, but soon went into labour where she managed to give birth to the entity without harm to herself. Whilst the entity disappeared off after gaining its freedom, Danger was more distracted by her new romance with Madison. [X-Club #1-5]

The world had started to view the island of Utopia as a rogue state and the X-Men themselves had begun in-fighting. When Wolverine left the team, he took with him a great number of X-Men and students. Cyclops decided it was time to set up a team to show the world that X-Men were just as vital to the world as the Avengers were. With that, he set up the Extinction team, into which Danger was recruited. The X-Club gave Danger a number of modifications that allowed her to further her analytical and fighting skills. Her robotic nature meant she could go to places normal humans couldn't. In effect, she would be like the Mars Rover for the team.

The team was called upon when the Dreaming Celestial in San Francisco was attacked by Mister Sinister. During the initial assault by the X-Men, Danger gathered data on the situation and relayed it back to the X-Club for analysis. After managing to decapitate the Celestial, Sinister made his way to the Museum of Fine Art, where he made numerous copies of himself and awaited the X-Men's arrival. When they arrived, Danger attacked Sinister but he smashed her apart with a cannonball. She laid low whilst the rest of the X-Men battled and, when she was ready, reformed herself and attacked Sinister again. This time she had gathered sufficient data on him and quickly neutralized many of his clones. The X-Men managed to defeat him but, nevertheless, he got away. [Uncanny X-Men (2nd series) #1-3]

Danger's multiple skills came in handy when the X-Men were tasked with investigating the mysterious Tabula Rasa. The alien-like environment was created using technology which sped up time in a small area of Montana, allowing millions of years to pass over the course of a few days. Danger's original task was to collect data and send it back to the X-Club for analysis. However, when the rest of the X-Men ran into trouble, Danger had to shift priorities. She went on the offense to help them defeat one of the natives that was attacking them. After teaming up a with friendly native, she ended up acting as a suit of armor for him to save his life. [Uncanny X-Men (2nd series) #5-8]

When there was a mass breakout at The Peak, the Extinction team was called upon to round up the alien escapees. One of them was the notorious robot Unit, which was deemed extremely dangerous and was being kept in isolation. Hope Summers and her team found him first but they were no match for his advanced powers. The X-Men caught up to them but Unit soundly beat them as well. However, Danger had been observing the fight and squared off against Unit, quickly incapacitating him. The X-Men found Unit to be very polite and willing to cooperate with them. Agent Brand informed the X-Men that she was unable to house Unit until the repairs could be finished on the Peak station. So, she asked them to keep him on Utopia in their brig.

Unit was placed in an isolation chamber within the brig. The reason for his passiveness soon became apparent when he told Danger to bring him Hope. When the prison warden dismissed his order, he revealed that he had taken over her systems within seconds of them meeting. Danger was now nothing but a puppet to Unit and was powerless to tell anyone. [Uncanny X-Men (2nd series) #9-10]
