COSTUME GALLERY
1) As a member of the Hellions Squad, Julian's original costume was a crimson one-piece spandex uniform with light pink bands running across his hips, down his thighs and up from his feet to his calves. A dark, purple panel was positioned across his chest, on which a light, pink X symbol was positioned in the middle of his chest. Bands of the dark purple crossed down across his abs. Julian wore short crimson gloves. His costume was sleeveless, but he occasionally wore a purple jacket. The colors of his costume, and those of his Hellions Squad teammates, were no doubt a tribute to the original Hellions. [New X-Men: Academy X #2]
2) By the time that Julian departed for summer vacation, he and the rest of the Hellions Squad had begun wearing somewhat sleeker versions of their costumes, with the colors now a predominant red for the base of the one-piece, with the pink accents, including the X on the chest, now white. Accordingly, Julian also wore a red jacket on some occasions. [New X-Men: Hellions #1]
3) With the training squad system no longer in play following M-Day, the majority of the remaining students at the Institute adopted individual costumes. Julian's was a reworked version of his earlier costumes, still wearing base red one-piece, this with black panels running down the sides of his body. Black boots reached up his calves and had a red band across his feet. Once again, his outfit was short-sleeved and he wore red gloves with a black band on the wrist. Black panels on his chest formed a large X symbol, and he wore a large red belt, sometimes with utility compartments. [New X-Men (2nd series) #24]
4) The New X-Men began wearing black and gold versions of the classic X-Men training costume, but these were somewhat modified. Julian's modified version of the traditional X-Men training costume, included chunky knee-high boots and chunky gloves that reached his elbow and appeared to serve little purpose. Julian wore a belt with a large X on it across his hips and a high-collar jacket. [New X-Men (2nd series) #43]
-) Upon waking in San Francisco, with no official team arrangements and feeling disassociated from the X-Men, Julian was often seen wearing civilian clothing, even when rioting with other mutants in opposition to anti-mutant legislation. On some occasions, he would wear his fourth costume, or a modified version of it.
5) After losing his forearms in combat, Julian wore a new, sleeker version of the training uniform. Obviously, the large gloves were gone, and the chunky boots were replaced by a much more slender boot. In addition to a red and black X across his chest, he wore gold caps across the ends of his arms. [X-23 (2nd series) #1] When he received his floating hands, he sometimes wore gloves over the hands, and on occasion the red X was simply black and yellow.
6) In the Age of X, Julian wore a unique outfit, as did all of the mutants living at Fortress X. His consisted of green military pants with brown boots. His chest and abdomen were bare. He wore some sort of black armor across his shoulders, with a brown strap across his bare chest. Chunky metal shoulder pads connected to metal that covered what remained of his arms, and he had floating “hands” that he controlled with his telekinesis. [Age of X crossover]
7) As a student of the Jean Grey School, Julian usually wore the standard school uniform, which was basically black trousers and blazer. When involved in combat he was usually seen wearing civilian clothing. [Wolverine & the X-Men (1st series) #1]
-) Eventually, Julian returned to wearing his third Hellions Squad costume. [X-Men (4th series) #2]
