Recruited for the Unity Division in to Uncanny Avengers (3rd series) #4.
Cable was purged of the T-O virus by Hope's Phoenix power in Avengers: X-Sanction #4. He lost most of his left arm prior to X-Force (4th series) #1 while trying to cut out a power-destabilizing serum before it spread. The unstable serum will kill Cable within 24 hours, forcing him to keep his body in cryogenic stasis to prevent the explosive results. He currently occupies a series of one-a-day clone bodies, carrying over his memories from each incarnation using a mnemonic band worn around his skull. The destabilizing serum imprinted on his genetic code, so these bodies will also explode every 24 hours, requiring Cable to constantly swap out clones. His mutant powers have been significantly inhibited by his current status.
First appeared as Cable in New Mutants (1st series) #86-87. Cable's first name was revealed in X-Force (1st series) #1, "Dayspring" in Cable: Blood & Metal #2, and he was confirmed as Nathan Christopher Charles Summers in Cable (1st series) #6.
