BIOGRAPHY - Page 6

Mentally healed, Paige re-established connections with her friends from Generation X. When Nightcrawler brought the villainess Margarli Szardos to the Jean Grey School,Paige worked with Chamber and Monet to guard her and then fought alongside Chamber when the army of Trimega attacked the school. [Nightcrawler (4th series) #3-4] Along with other faculty of the Jean Grey School, Husk attended Washington when Cyclops made his speech in which he proclaimed that the mutant revolution was coming. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #600]

When the Jean Grey School was re-purposed as the Xavier Institute and relocated to Central Park in Manhattan, Paige retained her role as the school counsellor. Among those she counselled was Bling, who was a member of Jubilee's X-Men training squad. It was during Bling's sessions that Paige realized how she used her time with the X-Men as a crutch, to hide from dealing with her problems. When Paige discovered that terrible things had happened to Monet (having been transformed into Emplate) she confronted Jubilee and Chamber for not telling her about their friend. Jubilee told Paige that they would save Monet, and she was to focus on herself and the way she was helping the younger mutants. [Generation X (2nd series) #8]

Husk leapt into battle to defend her friends and students when the deranged Monet used Emplate's powers to unsynch the Xavier Institute from reality, trapping everyone inside it in a pocket dimension and torturing them. Husk battled Monet in physical combat but was overpowered by her. Eventually, Husk and her Generation X teammates were able to subdue Monet, shunt Emplate out of her and restore their friend to her usual self. Afterwards, Paige gave Chamber and Jubilee her blessing when she detected that they had feelings for each other. [Generation X (1st series) #86-87]

At some point, Paige was enlisted by S.H.I.E.L.D. to be stationed at Tabula Rasa as part of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Non-Human Resource Department. There, she cared for the strange fauna that existed within the unique realm and, even after S.H.I.E.L.D.'s collapse, she remained at Tabula Rasa to care for the fauna. When the Chameleon, impersonating Deadpool, began stealing S.H.I.E.L.D. weapons from Tabula Rasa, Husk teamed up with Spider-Man and, to her annoyance, the real Deadpool, to defeat the Chameleon. [Spider-Man / Deadpool #24-25] Husk later met with Spider-Man to inform him that the Chameleon had stolen a file from Tabula Rasa called “Project Doppelganger” and, although most of the information had been scrubbed, it related to a facility where robots were manufactured, and now thousands of LMD robots were missing. Husk continued to assist Spider-Man, though the Chameleon seemed to stay one step ahead of him by tracking the signal of the robots that the Chameleon had stolen.

She later accompanied Spider-Man, Deadpool and their allies when they went to confront the Chameleon, although she was asked to wait in the transport craft. Husk was left out of the battle between Spider-Man, Deadpool, their other allies, the Chameleon and the LMD robots, and eventually returned to Tabula Rasa to continue to take care of the fauna. She was accompanied by two LMD guards. [Spider-Man / Deadpool #27-28, 30-31, 33, 36, 40]

Paige left Tabula Rasa to answer a distress call at Quadra Island in British Columbia, Canada, where dozens of X-Men and their allies were battling an out-of-control X-Man, who was attempting to remake reality. When her brother, Cannonball, was injured during the battle, Paige used her distress to fuel her anger. However, along with dozens of other X-Men, Paige was seemingly killed when the X-Men were unable to defeat X-Man. [Uncanny X-Men (5th series) #10] In fact, none of the X-Men truly died. Instead, they were transported to a pocket reality in which X-Man had indeed created a utopia, one where mutants were celebrated. Within this reality, Paige was an instructor at the Summers Institute, which prepared young mutants for their future. Paige taught agriculture to students like Shark Girl and Glob Herman, and became concerned when Glob started missing some of his classes. [Age of X-Man: Nextgen #1-2]

When the pocket dimension was destroyed, Paige and other missing X-Men were returned to their true reality. When the mutant nation of Krakoa was established, Paige accepted the invitation to live at the wondrous new home for all mutants. Paige was hand-picked by Cyclops for a special mission to infiltrate and sabotage the dangerous Mastermold space station, operated by mutantkind's new enemy, Orchis. When one of the Orchis operatives blew themselves up to disrupt the mutants' plans, Paige was killed in the explosion. Thanks to the miracles of mutantkind, Paige, alongside the other mutants killed on Orchis, were resurrected shortly later on Krakoa. [House of X #3, 5] On Krakoa, Paige lives with her Generation X teammates in the Delta House within the Akademos Habitat. Her mutant siblings live within other Houses in the Akademos Habitat.

Paige was recruited to assist Kwannnon in a battle against a techno-psychic horror called Apoth, working alongside X-23, the time-displaced Cable and one of the students she used to counsel, Bling. Although the group worked well together, they did not remain as a team for other assignments. [Fallen Angels (2nd series) #5-6] Paige was having breakfast with Cannonball and Icarus when she informed her de-powered sister, Melody, that it was time for her to participate in the Crucible, a fight against Apocalypse to determine whether she was worthy of being resurrected with her powers returned to her. Paige attended the Crucible and watched anxiously as her powerless sister battled the ancient mutant and was subsequently killed by him. Paige and Cannonball were waiting for Melody when she was resurrected with her flight powers. [X-Men (5th series) #7]

Paige continues to live on Krakoa and occasionally participates in special assignments. She reunited with Toad as they planted a Krakoan flower in New York City to welcome the villainesses of Hell's Belles to Krakoa. [Children of the Atom #2] Husk has also worked alongside her ex Chamber with Nightcrawler's Legionnaires. [Legion of X #8]
