JUBILEE: Page 10 of 10

BIOGRAPHY - Page 10

Jubilee eventually found time to relax with her former Generation X teammates and they all went to an escape room for her birthday. Naturally things took a deadly turn when the owners realized the group were all mutants and called in the Friends of Humanity to deal with them. Jubilee and the team easily dealt with the bigots and proved that they still worked well together after many years. [X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #41]

When Dazzler broke up with her boyfriend Alex, she called up Jubilee and Boom Boom to go for a girl’s night out to get over him. The three went to a bar and were doing well with getting Dazzler to forget about Alex, until he showed up with a gang. Revealing himself to be a vampire, he easily beat the three women, as they had been drugged by the bartender without them knowing. When Jubilee regained consciousness, she found herself handcuffed to the steering wheel of a speeding monster-truck, much to her alarm.

Not knowing where she was or what was going on, she drove the truck around a giant arena, whilst dodging numerous other trucks which were looking set to destroy her own. After rendezvousing with Boom Boom, who was being chased by a hoard of sewer creatures, they found Dazzler being hunted through an enormous maze. Jubilee realized they were in some kind of bloodsport competition, and her theory was proved correct when a mysterious voice announced they had moved on to the next round.

Jubilee and the others found themselves facing off against the current winner of the games, which turned out to be Laura Kinney aka Wolverine. Happy to see a familiar face, the group began to strategize on how to escape, which annoyed the organizer of the games, Xarus, the vampire who originally turned Jubilee years before. Alex was Xarus’ son, and he was growing impatient with the women, so he began a new sadistic game in the hopes he could kill them. Large mirrors shot up from the ground around Jubilee and the others, splitting them into pairs. Whenever they looked at their reflections, an evil doppleganger would appear and attack them. Jubilee managed to figure out the trick and blindfolded herself and Boom Boom, whilst fighting off evil versions of herself. It took the combined efforts of all the women to destroy the mirrors and escape the game but, when they did so, they discovered they were on the Collector’s spaceship.

They were quickly captured again and placed in a cell, alongside dozens of other women from various alien species. Alex told them that he had joined forces with the Collector and was allowed his own personal museum onboard the ship, which he filled with women such as Jubilee and the others. Thanks to the combined efforts of the women, they managed to escape their prison and make it to the teleportation chamber, where they returned to Krakoa. Jubilee and the others were dragged in front of the Quiet Council to explain why Dracula and the Vampire Nation was ready to start a war with the mutants again. They explained that Alex and his followers had betrayed the Vampire Nation, and the fact the women managed to kill many of the treasonous vamps should be rewarded. Dracula agreed but, rather than a monetary reward, Jubilee and the others asked to seek revenge on Alex and the Collector before Dracula did. Coming up with a plan, Dazzler took the fight to Alex herself, whilst Jubilee and the others acted as a distraction to keep the Collector busy. Jubilee proved to be a powerful adversary, as she was able to test out the full extent of her powers without the fear of hurting innocent people. Harnessing the power of her atomic blasts, she literally turned herself into an atomic bomb, vaporizing the Collector’s ship and severely injuring the cosmic being. Returning to Earth, Jubilee and the others realized they worked so well together they called themselves the X-Terminators, offering themselves as a cleanup crew for Dracula should he ever need it again. There was no rest for the wicked when Jubilee was sent to talk to a group of kids, calling themselves the X-Men on TV. Before she could even warn then off using the group’s name, she was kidnapped by Mojo, along with the kids. After navigating Mojo’s deadly TV shows, they were eventually rescued by the real X-Men. Jubilee’s vampiric past came back to haunt her again when a number of body parts washed up on shore, completely drained of blood. She decided to seek out help from her former allies the Forgiven, the gang of vampires who had sworn not to give into their thirst for human blood and who had taken Jubilee in when she had nowhere else to turn. She was saddened to learn that their leader Raizo had recently been murdered, and the team was now in disarray. They decided to help Jubilee and the X-Men track the person who left the body parts, and the trail led to a mad scientist known as the Curator. During the fight. Eliza, the new leader of the Forgiven, gave into her urges and drained the Curator of his blood, breaking the rules of the group. After the fight was over, Jean Grey offered to help them and asked Jubilee if she believed the Forgiven could stick to their path without any help. Jubilee solemnly replied she didn’t and begged Eliza to let the X-Men help, but her offer was disregarded as the Forgiven disappeared into the night. [X-Men: Unforgiven]

In a surprise twist, the former villain Lady Deathstrike reached out to Jubilee to meet her in Los Angeles. Through her assassin contacts, Deathstrike had been requested by fellow assassin and aunt of Jubilee, Hope Lee, to broker a meeting with her last remaining family member. However, Hope's true purpose was to steal one of Deathstrike's cybernetic arms for her employer to whom she owed a debt. After a short shoot out, Jubilee convinced Deathstrike to give up an arm in order to have her aunt's debt canceled. After the employer agreed to the terms, the trio of women no longer felt obligated to hold back, so they took out the man and his enforcers. [Marvel's Voices: X-Men] Leading up to the third Hellfire Gala, Jubilee was on the ballot to become one of the newest X-Men. She demonstrated how much she had grown by taking a class of young mutants to the Savage Land on a field trip. Using her leadership skills she managed to direct her charges into taking down a group of dinosaur poachers. [X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #102] Her growth from young stowaway to full fledged, democratically elected X-Man culminated in a brief moment of utter joy at the Hellfire Gala, before everything came to a horrific end. Nimrod literally crashed the party, forcefully landing on the new X-Men team, killing most of them. However, a horribly wounded Jubilee uttered her defiance before being shot to death by the futuristic killing machine. [X-men: Hellfire Gala (2023) #1] Things may be dire for mutantkind but Jubilee has never been one to let death stop her before and it is only a matter of time before she gets her revenge.
