Polaris (Lorna Dane)
Alex Summers first met Lorna Dane when they both were captives of Larry Trask’s Sentinels. They were later freed by the X-Men, but Havok had been injured and needed medical treatment. Lorna watched over him while the X-Men were away and they soon found each other in love, much to the anger of Iceman, who too was romantically interested in the magnetic mutant. With the addition of a new team of X-Men, Alex and Lorna decided to leave and set up home together in Nevada whilst studying geophysics. Though they were occasionally dragged in the X-Men’s battles every now and then, they happily lived together for some time, until Alex left for New York to tell the X-Men about a brood ship they had found. On arriving, he found the X-Men in a bad way and joined them, although he wondered how he would explain this to Lorna. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #218-219]
However, when Havok first encountered the Marauders, he found that Lorna had been taken over by the psychic entity Malice and was now a member of the villain team. She even tried to kill him. Long months later, after the apparent death of Mr. Sinister, Malice’s hold weakened and Lorna contacted the X-Men for help. Though they arrived too late to prevent Zaladane from stealing her magnetic powers, the unwanted power transfer also removed Malice from her mind. The couple would have had another chance, if Gateway had not teleported the X-Men back to Australia. There they stepped into the Siege Perilous to escape from the attacking Reavers, [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #250-251] and Havok ended up as a Genoshan Magistrate, not remembering his former life.
It wasn't till much time later that Alex and Lorna got back together again when they helped form the government sanctioned team X-Factor. [X-Factor (1st series) #71] Blaming himself for the apparent death of Jamie Madrox, caused by Haven’s ineffective cure for the Legacy virus, Alex quit the team, but Polaris tracked him down in Hawaii. However, Malice was to interfere again, taking control of Alex. Mr. Sinister planned for Malice to control Lorna once more but, during the transfer, Alex realized what was happening and held onto Malice. The lovers both pulled at the psychic entity, trying to prevent the other one from getting possessed and, in the end, Malice had to leave both of them. [X-Factor (1st series) #100-105]
Havok stayed with X-Factor and Lorna but, soon after, he began to lose control of his power, and he was then kidnapped by the minions of the Dark Beast. A faked letter said that Alex needed time to think about his life and Lorna was sad that he departed without her. Much to her surprise, she saw him again when he returned as part of the Brotherhood. She was even more shocked when the apparently brainwashed Alex attacked her and blasted his plasma at her full force, causing her a cardiac arrest.
Weeks later, Alex confessed to her that the whole time he was working undercover to find out what McCoy, the Dark Beast, was up to. Lorna finally had enough of him. She could understand the need to expose these schemes, but not that he betrayed and even risked killing her. Though they decided to just be friends and teammates, a few days later Havok was apparently killed in the heart of an exploding, malfunctioning time machine. [X-Factor (1st series) #148-149]
Though he was believed dead, Alex was actually catatonic in a convalescent hospital. Meanwhile, Lorna was present during the slaughter of 16 million mutants on Genosha by sentinels, which left her mentally scarred. When Alex was returned to the X-Men and recovered from his catatonia, Lorna proposed to him. Though Alex didn’t actually say yes, Lorna and everyone else took his answer for granted. While Lorna busied herself making wedding plans, Alex’s attraction to his nurse, Annie Ghazikhanian, grew to the point that he ended things with Lorna on their wedding day. Despite breaking up, the pair still had to work together on a squad, along with Iceman, who still had feelings for Lorna, making the entire situation uncomfortable.They nevertheless perservered, until Lorna lost her powers and left the team. She was later captured by Apocalyse and given a simulacrum of her powers. [X-Men (2nd series) #161-185]
Lorna later rejoined the X-Men for a mission into Shi’ar space, alongside Havok, to stop his rogue brother Vulcan. To get Alex’s mind off the troublesome subject of their mission, she passionately kissed him. Whilst with the resistance against Vulcan’s rule, the pair rekindled their relationship once more [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #484, X-Men: Emperor Vulcan #1].After defeating Vulcan, the pair returned to Earth and found themselves reunited with their old X-Factor teammates. Alex felt like it was a step back from them, while Lorna was happy, leading to the couple to release they had become too co-dependent. Seeing they had grown apart in what they wanted, they separated amicably.

Madelyne Pryor
Alex first met Madelyne while she was a pilot for the airline of his grandparents and picked him, Scott and their father Corsair up. He witnessed Scott and Madelyne falling in love and also attended their wedding. Months after their child was born and Scott had abandoned her, Madelyne awoke from a coma in San Francisco. She had survived an assassination attempt by the Marauders and had now managed to contact the X-Men just in time, before the villains attacked a second time. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #215, 221-222]
The next day at their base on Alcatraz, Alex found Madelyne ready to commit suicide. She had lost all that she had lived for. Her husband gone, her baby missing and every record of her existence erased. Alex reminded her that the child would need her, once they found him. Additionally, the X-Men were a family and would always be there for her, even if Scott was not. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #223]
Isolated in the Australian Outback, where the X-Men were hiding after the world thought then dead, Alex and Madelyne slowly found themselves drawn to each other. Both felt betrayed by their lovers and so started some sort of relationship. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #239] However, Maddie was secretly been influenced by Limbo demons who had awakened her latent powers. Corrupted by their influence, Madelyne caused Inferno in New York and was fully transformed into the Goblyn Queen, with Havok as her Prince by her side. When X-Factor and X-Men met, Madelyne manipulated brother against brother, and Havok accused Cyclops of abandoning his wife when she most needed him. Soon the truth behind Madelyne Pryor was revealed. She was actually a clone of Jean Grey, empowered by a fraction of the Phoenix Force. The knowledge of this drove Madelyne insane and she died in battle with the X-Men and X-Factor. [Inferno crossover]

Scarlett McKenzie
When Havok and Wolverine were vacationing in Mexico, they found themselves suddenly targeted by terrorists. They managed to deal with their pursuers, but were fooled by a damsel in distress, who actually belonged to the terrorist group. Havok woke up in a hospital in the care of Nurse Scarlet McKenzie (the assassin without disguise). She slowly manipulated Havok and made him fall in love with her. Scarlett was working for the Russian scientist Dr. Neutron, aka Meltdown, who wanted to use Havok as a means to absorb the entire energy of an atom reactor breaking down and transmute it into himself. Scarlett gave Alex false information that terrorists were trying to sabotage the plant and, when he ventured into the heart of the reactor, he found it shortly before reaching critical limit. According to plan, Havok tried to absorb the dangerous radiation, and when he witnessed Dr. Neutron killing Scarlett, he shot his plasma at him, making him stronger. The timely arrival of Wolverine prevented a full disaster and, after Logan killed the scientist, Alex redirected the nuclear radiation into space. For Alex's sake, Logan kept Scarlett’s betrayal secret, as he was still trying to get over the backplotting of Madelyne Pryor. [Havok and Wolverine : Meltdown #1-4]
Years later, Scarlett returned without explanation, now working for the Sugarman. She tried to kidnap Havok, but a first attempt was prevented by X-Factor. Unfortunately for her, the Dark Beast got to Alex before she could try a second time. [X-Factor (1st series) #112-113]

Elektra
Being in the middle of an exploding malfunctioning time machine, Havok was transported to another reality, the Mutant X Universe, where he took over the body of his counterpart, who too was on the brink of death. In this reality, Alex was known as Mutant X, leader of The Six, consisting of himself and altered versions of the Goblyn Queen, Iceman, Beast, Archangel and Storm, known here as Marvel Woman, Ice-Man, Brute, the Fallen and Bloodstorm. Alex was married to Madelyne Pryor and was the father of their child, Scotty, named after his long missing older brother. [Mutant X #1]
Madelyne, however, succumbed to her dark side, became the Goblyn Queen and took over the minds of the other four members of The Six. Havok escaped with Scotty and his nanny Elektra. Both the boy and Elektra had noticed the change in Havok, as this universe’s Alex Summers had never been so caring and understanding. They joined forces with Magneto's X-Men in combating Madelyne, but in the end it was little Scotty who used his developing psychic powers to purge the Goblin Force, destroying it and causing Madelyne to disappear as well. Love seemed to blossom between Alex and Elektra. [Mutant X #6-12]
When the government started to hunt the Six, Havok had Elektra hid with Scotty in Manhattan. Unfortunately, they were targeted there by the Horsemen of Apocalypse and an evil Professor Xavier. When Xavier was defeated, Alex sent Scotty to live with Elektra and the X-Men in their moon base, which unfortunately was later destroyed in a battle against the Beyonder. [Mutant X #15-23]Soon thereafter Havok was transformed into energy and departed onto another plane of reality, so it's unlikely that he and Elektra will not see each other again.

Annie Ghazikhanian
Though Havok's mind had been transported to the Mutant X universe, his body survived in the 616 universe, completely catatonic. He was registered as John Doe and eventually transferred to a convalescent hospital for homeless, unidentified patients. There, Nurse Annie Ghazikhanian took a special liking to him and made him her special case. During this time, Annie's telepathic son Carter had been linking their minds, without her knowledge, causing her to fall in love with the unidentified man. When Alex’s body was identified and returned to the X-Men, Annie accompanied him and soon became the school nurse. Carter, using his telepathic powers, was able to pull Alex out of his catatonia. [Uncanny X-Men (1st series) #411-420]
To Annie’s dismay, Polaris proposed to Alex and wedding preparations followed soon after. Alex, however, couldn’t help but feel an inexplicable connection to Annie and soon realized he loved her. He ended things with Lorna on their wedding day and flew to Paris for a romantic getaway with Annie. Tensions developed between Havok and Iceman, who also had feelings for Annie and had developed a bond with her when Alex was preparing to marry Lorna. Alex's pressures as squad leader and his mistrust of Iceman drove a wedge between he and Annie. After an attack on the school by the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Annie realized she had had enough left with her son. Though she didn’t say goodbye to Alex, she did ask Polaris to look after him. Wasp (Janet Van Dyne)
Havok and Wasp met when they were both invited by Captain America to join the Avengers new human/mutant Unity Squad. Whilst showing Alex her new line of X-Men inspired fashion, Janed made an obvious pass at the man. Alex was about to turn her down, not wanting the extra complications, when they were interrupted by an alert. As they faced off against the Apocalypse Twins and the fracturing of the team, their bond continued to develop. Janet was very open and flirtatious with Alex, kissing him when he tried to keep her from separating from the group and pointing out his feelings were clouding his judgement.
Unfortunately, the Unity Squad failed in their mission to stop the Apocalypse Twins. Though one of the twins, Uriel, was killed, the twins' plan resulted in the Earth being destroyed after the twins used the Scarlet Witch to abduct all of mutant kind to a new home: Planet X. Eimin, the remaining twin, twisted the facts to blame the Avengers for the Earth’s destruction. Havok and Wasp spent years in hiding together from the rest of mutant kind, while looking for a way to travel back in time and save Earth. During this time, the pair fell in love, married and raised a daughter named Katie. Their opportunity to save the Earth came from a surprising source in Kang the Conqueror. Ultimately, though, Alex couldn’t bring himself to do it, because it would erase Katie from existence. Nevertheless, Kang forced his hand by abducting Katie and promising to return her when Alex and the surviving members of the Unity Squad rewrote history. While the group succeeded in saving the Earth, Kang betrayed them and Havok was forced to choose between letting Kang conquer the universe or saving his daughter. He chose to stop Kang and, while he defeated the villain, he was left horribly disfigured, as well as losing his daughter.
Despite losing their daughter, Alex’s scars and erasing their time together, Alex and Janet sill loved each other deeply and saw themselves as married. Hope came from an unlikely source when Immortus confirmed they could have their daughter again if they conceived at the right time. [Uncanny Avengers (1st series) 7-25]
When the X-Men were “morally inverted” as a result of the Red Skull’s actions, the X-Men prepared to denotate a bomb that would wipe out mankind. Alex argued to save Janet’s life but was turned down by the other X-Men; a decision he accepted. Luckily, a heroic version of Carnage stopped the bomb. Alex tried to take credit for it but Janet recognized he was lying and was willing to sacrifice her. When the moral inversions were undone, Havok was one of the few to be unaffected, essentially ending his relationship with Janet. [Avengers & X-Men: Axis #1-9]
