The Crossover:
Characters Involved
When the initial Age of Apocalypse crossover was released in 1995-96, many of the characters featured within the X-titles were re-imagined in this new world. Other heroes such as the Fantastic Four and Avengers were also accounted for, whether on panel or in passing by mention by another character. Once the crossover was completed, the timeline was considered gone for many years. A number of prequel comics were released over the years after that detailing the background to some of the situations and characters. Later still, the timeline returned in a big way with limited series, and featured in ongoing titles. The following list of characters contains the ones featured in the original crossover only. For more information on these characters and any character that featured after the crossover, please read The Continuing Age of Apocalypse. For characters with an alternative codename, their 616 name is in parentheses next to it.
