Notes:
- Slick was one of the most popular students in the school until he ran afoul of Quentin Quire. Quire considered Slick a "phoney" and used his telepathic abilities to out Slick's own "charisma" based powers showing the other students his true appearance. This ruined Slick socially and his girlfriend Tattoo broke up with him.
- Depowered in M-Day. Fate unknown.
- Name revealed in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #13.
Spike III (Walsh, Gary)
First appearance: New X-Men (1st series) #126

Spirit (Pace, Jacob)
First appearance: X-Men Unlimited (2nd series) #7
Powers: sublimation effect caused his body to break down into an intangible gaseous state
Notes:
- Jacob's power was causing his death, forcing his body to "fade away.” By the end, he had accepted his fate but it was very hard for Kitty Pryde to come to terms with it. Eventually, she put aside her own feelings and kept him company in his final moments.
- Jacob’s discorporation was similar to what happened to Kitty Pryde, following an injury she sustained during the Mutant Massacre. Her condition was corrected by Dr. Doom and Reed Richards in the miniseries X-Men vs. Fantastic Four.
- Real name revealed in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #13.

Talon/Wolverine III (Kinney, Laura)
First appearance: NYX #3
Powers: accelerated cellular regeneration augments her natural strength, speed, agility, endurance, and reflexes, expands her perceptions to give her animal-like senses, and grants her an accelerated healing factor that can stave off poisons, suppress the aging process and repair damaged cells and tissue within minutes, two retractable claws made of razor tipped and extremely dense bone extend from each forearm through the back of her hand and one from each foot between the toes, adamantium metal has been surgically bonded to her skeleton and claws to make them virtually unbreakable
Notes:
- Laura Kinney, originally X-23, was created by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost for the X-Men: Evolution TV series.
- Originally, the character was introduced as a “partial” clone of Wolverine. However, it was later retconned that she was a “test-tube” baby created by Dr. Sarah Kinney using her DNA and that of the X-Man Wolverine.
- Laura was bred to be an assasin and her life was very hard. Despite her horrific circumstances and unusual creation, Dr. Kinney did have a maternal bond with Laura. When she finally escaped, she unfortunately killed her mother by accident.
- X-23 lived on the streets of New York for a period and worked as a prostitute before being discovered by the X-Men.
- When Kyle and Yost took over the title in New X-Men (2nd series) #20, X-23 was added to the book and became its lead character.
- Easily the biggest breakout star from this period, she, has had mutiple solo titles and served on the roster of various X-Men/X-Force line-ups.
- While her own status as a clone has been removed, she has actually been cloned mutiple times.
- During a period in which Wolverine was dead, Laura assumed his codename and, despite a brief period where she was X-23, she has since taken the identity back.
- Laura had a romance with Hellion that ultimately did not develop into anything serious.
- Laura was dispatched on a mission inside the Children of the Vault's home during the pages of X-Men (5th series) and was believed killed and was subsequently resurrected. However, it turned out that Laura was captured and later returned to the X-Men. This meant that for a time there were two Laura Kinneys. The “older” version took the name Talon and was romantically involved with her teammate Synch.
Tattoo (Cord, Christine)
First appearance: New X-Men (1st series) #126
Powers: depowered, formerly bio-phasing ability enables her to force her hand into another person’s body in order to scramble their neurochemistry and biological functions; chameleon skin creates symbols and patterns on her flesh upon command
Notes:
- Tattoo was sent to a human jail in New X-Men (1st series) #138 to atone for the crimes she committed as a member of the Omega Gang.
- She was depowered during M-Day and joined an incarnation of the New Warriors featuring various other depowered mutants using stolen villain tech. In her case, it was Stiltman's kit. She took the name Longstrike as her superheroine name.
- She died in combat against the Zodiac in New Warriors (4th series) #4. She would be a candidate for resurection but it is unconfirmed if this took place.
- She was the sister of other Omega Gang member, Radian.
Tantra (O'Hara, Reuben)

Powers: cast energy flares that manipulate the libido of other people, causing them to become extremely aroused by anything he chooses, possesses an elephant-like physiology including large ears, stubby fingers, tusks, and a trunk

Unclear Status
T-Ray (Raymond, Terry)
First appearance: X-Men in: Life Lessons #1
Powers: Vibrational powers
Notes:
- T-Ray has appeared in only one comicbook X-Men in: Life Lessons #1. The comic book was created in collaboration with the Starbright Foundation to honor the seriously ill children it supported.
- Raymond was an apparent orphan. His mutant status made him feel even further alone and even suicidal. Luckily he was discovered by the X-Men. At the mansion he excelled however his keenness was his undoing when he programmed a danger room session by himself and was permanently burned. In the aftermath he left the Institute and enrolled in a regular high school but he was miserable. Over time he did come to accept his scars and when Magneto attempted to recruit him he rejected the offer and fought him back along with the X-Men.
- Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Jean Grey and Professor X all had an apparent fondness for him.
- The story is more than likely not in continuity as would be common for a tie-in of this nature. However everything that occurred in the issue from the choice of characters down the costuming very much matched the status quo at the time of publication and seemed very deliberate. The only exception was the appearance of Magneto, however given the volume of impostors he has had over the years that appearance could not be read as conclusive proof either way.
